we only have 17 stands!
and at 1 point on a friday night we have the FR732, 2 AEA 738s an FUA 738 and an IBW A320 inbound within 2 hours – an extra 5 a/c
i think that theres shortly going to be rumours of an apron extension at Leeds, – also the Multiflight BBJ is going to be based here from the spring and taxiway work hasn’t commenced to allow it to be parked on the south side of the airfield so that may require a stand – i can see trouble here and if the authoritites dont do something soon as parking has already become a problem before when leeds have euro trips – at one point in 2001 we had a total of 20 a/c on the ground with the jetstreams been parked on the second runway (all 4 of them at the time) to allow some widebodies to get in – we’re talking DC-10s and A300s here – it just isn’t feasable here – and theres several areas where building work can commence
we’ll have to wait and see i suppose!
