EGNM, glad you have something positive to say about the IOM, all I have heard all day is bad reports lol.

For all the “backward aspects” of the place it does have a very intreging way of life – depending on what your looking for and how you view it I suppose! If you go with a very open mind you’ll find many quaint, quiet, picturesque villages, however as with everywhere it has it’s downsides. Douglas is practical for the majority of the amenities you’d expect on the mainland, whilst many of the smaller coastal towns such as Peel, Castletown, and Port Erin have there own quaint ways of life – however I believe you’ve to hit 60 before they let you into Port St Mary!
From friends met over there it appears that if your planning on moving the whole family over there the quality of schooling and facilities for Kids over there is far better than average.
My previous employer had a large operation through the and I visited on many occasions, usually for a day out walking, sometimes I even took my bike over for the day to explore.
Have a quick look here – some wonderful scenery on the Rock! http://www.island-images.co.uk/Manxland/zArchives.html
Well done bud. Hope all goes well for you and you enjoy the challenges of “Fraggle Rock” come winter!
There are certainly worse places than Fraggle in the world – i’m quite fond of the place!
Jet2 have been doing this for a long time now, must be at least two years!
Hi Tom,
Did a rather lot of paxing with em in a previous life and have never known that – and have never seen or had it enforced.
If this was the case there would have to be something in the T+C of the tickets upon purchase, and as said it would be neigh on impossable to practically enforce.
Also I doubt the company would be able to enforce such a stance as they have a duty of care towards all pax, and what happens when a bar service is not possable for whatever reason, or onboard services where bar services are not provided?
Now being unable to consume own alcoholic beverages onboard would be a differant matter…
Some nice stuff in there… you’d have though they’d have cleaned the “Honey” stains off the European B732’s engines by now tho! 😉
Aircraft was F/T Belgrade carrying engine for a B737 that returned to LHR with problems earlier in the week.
A couple of nice differant shots there – esp liking ‘LB’ – and the BMI E145
No MD80 pics will be found as it isn’t in service yet!
As Tom says, complementing quite nicely there with the selection of routes. To be honest they could set up a route structure like that out of many places in the UK as the destinations are so varied compared to other LCCs.
For example ex LBA only BGY,SZG and KTW would be competed on (with KRK to KTW alternate). Same would go ex-NCL. All those aircraft have to go somewhere I suppose (probably Cardiff when BRS fogs! 😀 )
Hi Michael,
It seems to come up as a matter of course, however when you continue the charges are wiped. Several people have mentione dit that I know of.
Idiot Paul – now that has a certain ring about it!
Now that Mr Pot and Mr Kettle have compared their respective pigmentation can we return to the topic, please?
Thank you very much.
GA
Ok, had a beer, but where’s Mr Black?
Shame i’m away at the time – would certainly have been up for that – would be nice to see the results of the teams efforts!
Well done for getting her upto MAN and making sure she escaped the Scrapman, and good look with the onwards presevation!
Nice shots there Paul, just two questions…who was the all white BAe 146 operating for and where was it destination, and is the Jet2 a/c one of their new ones that they have accquired from China or not? Just wondering because I notice it is missing its silver coat of paint, which kinda makes the livery look rather dull and boring!
G-FLTA is a Flightline machine currently operating for FlyBe on former BA Connect Services to BRU and CDG.
G-LSAD was delivered last Summer to Jet2 and is the former Air Scotland machine. She was painted as a hybrid due to her requirement to be in service for the summer season. Both G-LSAG/H that are in service so far from China are in Silver/Red variations. G-LSAI is yet to enter service.
Yeah I know they where Jet2/Channel express, Jet2 was Passagers and Channel express where cargo side 😉 and are based at BOH 😀
Sent you a PM Kevin hope you get what ever at PIK.
James
A couple of corrections from a few of the posts above
Originally Channel Express was the full company name, with Jet2 only being a branding – indeed even before Jet2 were formed Channel Express flew Passengers on the B733QCs.
The name was later changed to Jet2 and there are only 2 aircraft still in “Greentail” – G-CELP which was residing mostly in STN until it’s ‘C-Check’, however is working out of EDI atm, and G-CELW the only Pure Freighter in the fleet which is based in EXT.
The company is now based at LBA not BOH.
The Channel express was using Channex call-sign it might of been doing GSM flights ,but m not sure
Referance when Jet2 fly for Globespan, it would always be “Globespan” as a callsign and not Channex, however it won’t always nessecerily be G-CELR (painted in GSM colours) that would be flying the routes – confusing eh!
Hope its of use
3 aircraft operating under Channex callsigns, none in the normal livery! (PZ, LP and LO)
Great shots Kevin.
I thought G-CELO was based at NCL again for the summer?
There are preferances to where the airframes are based, however these are not rock steady as the idea is for the fleet to be interchangable if required.
