i’ve never seen a Bristol 170 in person, but have seen plenty of pics – a wierd looking a/c!
Not a chance with the Citreon!!
ahhhhhhh 56k modems 😡
Great pics! I also loved the B732 last time i was on in July-August 2000, what a plane, hopefully might get back on one before there retirement!
RE the Continental B733s, they were purchased or leased by Buzz shortly before RYR purchased then. Then RYR decided not to “paint em up as they dont operate any other B733s,supposed they will get rid soon. Hence the G-BZZ reggies also – i think there were 6 in all?
I think EAL have an a/c based at STN for ad-hoc work as well as it’s own prgramme for a tour operator. Might cover part of a niche the old British World covered from STN.
i miss the days of the 3 LBA based a/c flying EDI, GLA and JER routes principly, with the 3rd been a fleet backup i think which covered 4 LBA and MAN?
I remember G-GNTJ running off of 32 on TO roll due to winds, and the 2 Saabs getting hit by lightning in the same day – must have been about April 2001, before the E145s were brought in a couple of months later
cheers for the info Robert, and welcome onboard to the forums!
Moondance, sorry but who do u fly the B767 for?
As for Grrek ATC when in Heraklion i couldn’t undertsnad hardly a word of the greeks – they speek so fast, esp when talking to the OA B732s or Aegean/Cronus B734/RJ100s!
i wonder what will happen to the EZY crew?
In addition, thousands more people will get the chance to say goodbye to Concorde at cities throughout the country during the aircraft’s farewell tour of Britain, set to take place at the end of October.
Does thins mean shes going to be coming back to places like Leeds, Newcastle and Birmingham where she used to operate supersonic day trips? I realllllllly hope so!!!
i really could see this place taking off like Jersey for example. Jersey must b packed with RJSs at a weekend?
I know Leeds must have 5 or 6 E145 rotations, a FK50 and DHC8 Rotation on Saturdays, about 400 seats in and out. Newquay must be able to support a 1x weekly E145 operation or alike from the north of england larger fields, Leeds, Newcastle, East Mids, Liverpool, with bigger ops from MAN?
alll of them are in storage – i think the American DC-10 is actually owned by Ryani International now. I hope the A10s find a good home, they are good a/c for the longer sector flights from regional airports, as the likes of PIA and Hapag Llyod have proved!
Benair – PIA would never fly in here without the runway extension i’d expect – was supposed to b an A310 service – would be nice to see tho!
soz to b pedanting – it’s TCX :p
the whole of the Manchester airways structure has been changed – you may notice the UPTON SIDs have dissapeared from NM benair replaced by LAMIX and summot else SIDs
i’ve found that if i send pics away to these Truprint dealers etc they have that high a volume of prints to do, they really do sometimes have a poor quality – inking perhaps not done as often? Less care?
we’re Katilla previously known as American International Airways?
Also G-OBYD was what i came home from ACE on in April – good stuff!!
may well be a privatly owned example now then?
