yea keep up with the shooting down under!!
yea fuel dups come out of small pipes in the wing fuel tanks, which as stated above creates a fine mist, much of which evapourates. Yes it’s a pollutant, but a rare occurance and quite frankly a nessecity – not a good idea to land a strick a/c at 130knts full of fuel!
they “were” desined for Eastern until they got the JS41 fleet, and leased the E135s
nah A320 over A319 – u only c that because of the numbers BA operate at LHR – Name another large A319 operator??
As for A320…
BA,
BMI,
MYT,
MON,
AMM,
Principally large operators – may change when EZY get there order in…
i’ve often heard of scenarios like this on the scanner. One day when LUFC were in Europe we were fogbound overnight and a/c were stacked in the hold, a Monarch A300 asked what the weather was like, and his response was “we’re 10 miles away and can see right down to the ground! – He diverted to manchester!

I agree that they did well to get it on the ground on a runway BUT you have got to ask how they got themselves into the situation in the first place. Possible inadequate attention to conducting proper fuel checks which would have shown a leak much earlier into a long transatlantic flight? Would love to know what remedial training/’please close the door behind you’ was offered to the crew!
hence my “once he had been left in the powerless situation” Sorry – reading the other forums should that be he/she?

Now I read about this somewhere Yesterday, but I cant remember where, it was quite a long article on it.Cheers EGNM. 🙂
Andy was this artical on the net?
i like!!
cheers for that Mongu – between 5 that aint so bad!
Mongu, just out of interest proportionally what was the differance in price to hire the a/c? Cheaper due less fuel costs, landing fees etc, or more expensive as there are less operators?
Couldn’t figure it out for mysen!!
