Any one here know what progress has been made to the Lightning being restored at the Gatwick Aviation Museum ,looked like they were doing a really top notch job .

That Bentwaters Museum is a great place to visit , what about getting the Bentwaters Airshow up and running for 2014 ? Ideal venue for an Airshow ,forget about the locals moaning ,its only one weekend in the year ,the last show was very very popular

Nice to see the photo of the f4 Phantom , the OFMC had a ground crew that used to run up the F4 on a regular basis with a plan to Fly it again ,,but in the end the plan never came to anything ,it was good seeing the Phantom being run up on the taxi runs , any of the Duxford ground crew still around ? umm how many years ago was that ?

Thank you for all the info Yak Rider ,North Weald was the last place i took my Mother to before she Died ,went to all the Fighter Meet show,s from the start with Paul Warren Wilson ,John Watts and Co ,cant get down there much now i live in Norfolk ,i was coming down to the Open day on the 8th September ,but it clashed with the Seething air day up here on the same day ,perhaps they could try and arrange the open day on a different day next year as Seething and Duxford were also on the same day !! i still think the Weald will end up as a Housing Estate in the end ,Cheers Terry

Perhaps we could all support North Weald by going to the Open Day in September ,why did they pick that date as its on the same day as Seething Air day ,and Duxford , its a shame but i think it will end up as a housing estate in the end ,lots of money for the local council as a housing estate thats what counts ,i remember the original fighter meets with Paul Warren Wilson ,john watts and arthur gibson

    Hello Rob
you wont be seeing the Meteor any more ,its now based in Cornwall so to fly it up to Duxford and back would cost about 12 grand in fuel cost ,at 600 gallons an hour ,20 years work to get a permit to fly and base it in Cornwall ,i was in touch with the chap who worked on it for 20 years as he is also a Radio Ham

Do they still use RAF Bentwaters for some of their filming ,i went to the Benwaters open day a few weeks ago ,very good it was too ,i was also told there will be no more Airshows there as they didnt make any money out of the last show there, i was also told James May does not keep his Aircraft there any more

Great to see the Meteor flying again ,i was told it uses around 600 gallons of fuel per hour ,so for example to have it in a display in Duxford would cost around 12k ,just for the fuel alone ,i dont think we are going to see it very much or am i wrong ?
