I went saturday and thoroughly enjoyed the day. I disagree with most the Frenchman has a gaelic charm which adds to the ambience of the day. His ‘allo, allo’ opening line was classic.

My gripe for the day was the arrogant german who pushed and barged his way to the front with total disrespect for women & children alike. once at the front he started taking pictures of the ‘109’ pair waiting for their take off slot. when i questioned him pushing in he said it was my fault for leaving a space and he had paid the same ticket price as everyone else. As my fellow brits began to tell him how rude he was he backed tracked and said “i only want to ze our planes, then i will go”, it raised rather a titter when my 14 year old mentioned that they were Spanish built with British engines! Makes you want to vote UKIP.

Other than a fantastic day, well done Mr Grey (and the team), you will be missed in the July skies. Rousing speech from Elly Sallingboe reminded me to join Sally B supporters club, only 30 quid and well worth it!

It is important not only to think about price when buying insurance but the cover your policy provides.

You should really consider what cover your insurer provides for things like business interuption/Increased cost of working, should you have a major fire forinstance. What if your most prestigous exhibit was stolen or damaged the insurer may well pay out but what if it cannot be easily replaced? Does this mean your visitor numbers are lower and if so would your insurance compensate you for this? I would very carefully consider the the insurance i buy, the cheapest is not always the best!

Surely we are better off for having Mr Weeks as a custodian in the world of warbirds? His museum is just a little further away to travel than my usual haunts of Shuttleworth & Duxford!

It was indeed a fantastic day, thanks to all concerned. It was about time the guys & girls at Shuttleworth had a bit of luck with the weather! I bet the hardy souls involved with the vehicle parade could not believe their luck, they got drenched at the previous pagent!!
