(via =GT from CDF)
Just some additional info found here:
http://china-pla.blogspot.com/2009/09/recent-chinese-civilian-aviation-news.html
Regarding the dimensions of that front section:
The dimension of the head of C-919 are 7.9 m long by 3.96 m wide and 4.16 m high.
… but I also found another interesting note in that text stating that …
SAC delivering the C-Series test barrel to Bombardier as part of its involvement in the project, which includes delivering the entire fuselage, tail-cone structure and wingboxes.
Does anyone knows if there a wider cooperation between Bombardier and COMAC ???
Deino
Looks like a smaller 787 to me. The cockpit windows are almost an exact match
… or better the new C-Series !
Which airliner have they decided to copy this time ?
I understand You critical expectations … but it seems to be at least this time an indigenous design.
Deino
… at least it seems they started construction yesterday !?!?!

How on earth will the Russian AF instroduce the PAK-FA, without a new modern trainer ???????
Deino

Any news on its first flight ????
Deino
In fact it was not project “1376”, but 1300-76. It was the chosen configuration with the chin air intake. There was also the slightly shorter alternative 1300-77A with the ventral air intake.
Just brillinat !! Thanks for those !
Deino
Good news from the TAI:D In the future Turkey can create its own design fighter jet!
Actually I don’t want do de-rate the capabilities of the Turkish Aviation Industry … but the stepp from designing a turboprop-trainer to a jet-fighter is a huge one (maybe ask India, China or others !)
Deino
All information from competent people from a paralay’s forum and sukhoi.ru forum.
So to summarise: You are a long-time member of some Russian discussion-boards which include a few very respected and reliable persons … and after this time and a lot of “listening” and “learning” You now know who is respected and reliable !??!
I think that’s the best source we have until Mr Pogosyan will finally unveil that thing.
Thanks for that and I hope for these days in August…..
Cheers, Deino
People,
isn’t there a Y-## designation for the KJ-2000? KJ-200 is now Y-8W. Any info on that?
As far as I know only types manufactured in China get a J,JH,Q,Y,Z or whatever designation … and since the Il-76 isn’t produced in China and there’s no such Y-designation for the Il-76 transports … so, also nothing for the KJ-2000.
Deino
Ähhhhmmm … what’s the XF-36 ????
