… from “=GT” via CDF !!
Hey … I only noticed recently that the Q-5J twin-sticker has received a new camo … or is it another machine after the first prototype was painted in the blue-white-red “in-house” colours !?
Deino
Congrat, Deino!
Thanks 😉
Deino, will the H-6K be shown in your article “Drachenflügel (eng: Dragonswings) – Part 3” published in the german magazine Fliegerrevue Extra 19, December 2007?
This weekend I am reading Fliegerrevue Extra 18, September 2007. When I am finished, I will post a comment in the german forum Flugzeugforum.de.
Yes, it will and hopefully with a profile made by JP Santiago !!
Regarding the comments … any comment is wellcome; THANKS !!!
Deino
From Don Juan @ CDF:
H-6K?
Hey … what a good find ! Looks real esp. in comparison to this ejection-seat-test sled !
Cheers, Deino
I got these pictures from a local forum. Have you ever see an F-5 with CFT?
Regards, A-29
If it would be a Chinese bird surely everybody would cry loud “a PSed FAKE” !!!
Hmmm … very interesting but actually I’m not sure if it’s real !
Just my two cents … Deino
We shall never doubt FC-1 is capable of firing BVR SD-12 missiles.
Even without video or without concrete support. It is clear FC-1 is design with the intention to do BVR with SD-12…
It shadn’t be too hard to believe FC-1 firing a SD-12!
I surely do not doubt that …
1) the FC-1 is capable of fireing the PL-12
2) the SD-10/PL-12 and that BVR-capability was one of the driving reasons for the FC-1 development
BUT … we havn’t seen even a J-10 fireing the PL-12 nor have we seen so long any pictures of a FC-1 carrying a live PL-12 (and not a mock-up) … so I am – and I would be – very surprised that these fireing tests were currently under way. Nothing more ! Even the PL-5 test was a surprise to me, but not that I had any doubts on that capability.
Deino
It may take a while…………………:(
Any idea how “long” this “while” could last ???? … Regarding the publication date of Vol. 21 (= 16. May) I expected something about end of August !
Deino 🙁
well video1 is clearly different from what was shown on PTV
Ohh … I did’t see this PTV-video ! Do You have any captions or pictures from it … or even a link to that video ?
Thanks in advance, Deino
Will it be in English ? If so, the publisher has at least one customer 🙂
… at least two !!! 😮
I’m talking about Video 1 about the middle … and it’s clearly not from an underwing pylon, but from the wing-tip … even if the missile in flight after that cut seems to be a PL-12.
yesterday PTV also showed a JF-17 firing a missile( during a report on PAF) when commentator was talking about the BVR capability of the JF-17
… but for my opinion this missile is a PL-5 as it is clearly fired from the wing-tip pylon … right thereafter then there’s a cut and the missile in flight seems to be a PL-12.
Anyway interesting to note that weapons tests have already begun !
Cheers, Deino
Flieger Revue Extra is something other….
Why do not publish some of those articles by English in Brittish or US mags ?
Especially the NVA-LSK related writes.
After the reunification I tought it will the most published AF from War-Pac countries.
Why is Flieger Revue Extra something special ??? … maybe You can explain as I’m truly new to this buisines !
Otherwise it was the originally planned to publish these Chinese-articles in the AIR Enthusiast … Tony Buttler had the original idea and just last month he finalised the manuscripts for altogether 5 articles sorted by fighters, fighter-bombers and bombers in contrast to this more chronological order of this “German version”. But now with the end of AE we are looking for a publisher to take over these articles …. 🙁
So, a similar version in English is still planed if we find a new publisher …
On the other side a much longer version of that “short” CAC J-10A article will be the feature article for the next International AirPower Review. 😉
Cheers, Deino
…..and your publication will a dry text without the most appropriate photos…
So, on this way, what will you give for the readers ?
Your collection of AVAILABLE infos on the topic + your conclusions.
Maybe it will interesting, but it will not unic…
(Sorry, I do not want to downgrade your writer-capabilities, but I think, your choices to write something really unic…..)
But,
If you have contact with the Chinese test-pilot, development engineers, and you can publish their personal photos, scanned negatives or slides in HQ…so, it can be something completely different, your publisher will re-thinking the compensation, and the magazine will “sold-out” on the next day after publishing date…
I have two legs on the earth, I know this is mission-impossible in China….:))….(or not?)With SovietAF:
We have a lot of books, publications, detailed answers for most of the questions…..but without unic illustrations.
You can not see how it was, you can imagine only…If a publisher will invest more in well illustrated books about SovietAF types, in HQ, you will buy those without thinking on 3 times higher price…
(I hope my English is good enough to understand what I want to say.)
Yes, I think I understood, but the main problem is still – especially if You are not a well known author – to “deliver” a text for Yor publisher, then You have to choose the best pictures available as You too want Your article read.
But then – and that’s esp. in my situation the critical point – it’s in the end a simple calculation: for about 30 pages the publisher wants about 50-60 pictures + profiles … for each of them he gives me 20€ as a compensation for the photographer … the rest I have to pay.
In the end its all a compromise or a “go no go” situation: I decide to pay the rest even if I pay more than I earn only as I wish my text to be published or I leave it …. or as a compromise I use the best pictures available and affordable surely at the cost of the quality of my ariticle.
I think my wife will tell me something if I would pay several thousand € only for pictures, even if magazine will be sold out the next day !
And again You are right, for China the situation is surely different to Russia.
(I hope my English is good enough too to understand what I want to say.)
Cheers, Deino

Try to buy such photos…You will realize the actual “market”.
The publishing is the one side of this “market” only.
There are a lot of really rich private-collectors.
O.k. … but then we all should accept that the authors are seldom able to pay such prises for their publications esp. if they only get a fixed price !
Therefore no-one should complain about pictures which are missing, old or not the wished ones !
