Well those “planes” in the pics are merely RC models, I doupt they are anyway related to any real military projects, but as I don’t know more about this matter, don’t hold me responsiple, I just giving my obinion :diablo:
I don’t think so as the scan is from the Datanshang-museum catalog !
Even if they were not related to a special milityry project they were surely more than pure RC-models – maybe for testing wing-canard configurations – as they the small one is on Display at the Beijing Military Museum in companion to a very similar model of a canard-transport and another strange black model (see below on 4 recent pictures).
So PLEASE … once again, who can translate !????!!!
Cheers, Deino
PS: Just an idea … the only other aircraft with a similar configuration was the Aermacchi MB-341B a predecessor to the later Aermacchi AMX. (maybe a connection ???? )
Can anyone please translate that text regarding these two Chinese STOL concepts ?????
Thanks in advance, Deino π

Well I dont need to admit anything as I am sure Iranian pilots know more than me and you about that aircraft,.
If they write everywhere it has modified RD33 motors then it have.
Hmmm I think I would be more carefully. Even as surely most of us here don’t know all about the Iranian activities, such a claim is pure nonsense … and only because they write it, doesn’t mean that it’s true !
Just an example: the US tried the same with one RD-33-calls engine with the F-5 airframe which resulted in the F-20 !! Maybe a redesigned Iranian Tiger with one RD-33 would be possible …. but two surely not !
Anyway Thanks for posting these superb pictures,
Deino
seems J10B(two seat)has served in CAF
… and some more !!! π
No, it isn’t.
Hmmm … Thanks for posting but I have that strange feeling that both aircraft are different (or at least the colour scheme has been changed) … and second: for what purpose does this “civil” Y-8 has this sting ???
Cheers, Deino
Hmmm … a Y-8 with a sting !!!!???? … a new version for ASW with a MAD ???
Okay lets speculate then>
Hu, very much speculative !!
Here not: Very fine picture of the Y-8 with the disk !
Nice CG work of future J-10, π
Letβs speculate what goodies CAC can pack into the ultimate J-10 version: AESA radar/Canard/DSI intake/WS-10(or WS-13 if itβs twin engine powered)+ TVC. Only con will be the weaponry is still not internally placed.
Quite interesting is also that small twin-tailed L-15-development !
Cheers, Deino π
From what I heard, that fantan is apparently called Q-5B, possibly a prototype navalized variant. I have nothing of the sort to back it up, however…
No, that “B” varaiant was originally intented to be radar + torpedo equipped, and a rqised cockpit, it flew for the first time during (unsure) late 80’s – 90’s … and there are even two pictures of a machine with “81xxx” numbers and from the unpainted prototype.
Additional there are different reports for a second “B” version with a very strange nose ….
But this “144” machine is new to me !
Cheers, Deino
Q-5 prototype with radar.
Thanks for posting !!
Any idea how actual / recent this picture is !! With the no. 144 it’s the same aircraft shown on that Q-5-versions chart I posted some posts before and it looks very different to the proposed Q-5B naval version.
Is this just a radard-testbed, a one-off for a possible update ????
Cheers, Deino
… finally the first picture of a J-10 since how many weeks ???? :diablo:
Any idea about that number as the 1003 was an old or eraly prototype with the darker scheme ! … two possibilities:
1. this is the old 1003 repainted in lighter colours … (judging from the antenna on the spine this is the most likely option for me)
2 or this is from another batch with olso the no. 1003
Hmmm  … !
Cheers, Deino
π Well thats obvious, but there where a drawing of a plane, MiGs suggestion, strickingly similar to the Iranian plane doupted under the label “I-2000″….
I’m not sure if this was realy “MiG’s suggestion” or just a suggestion of someone else who tried to tell us it was from MiG !
Anyway that rumour still exist and maybe will never die … like the rumour about a Chinese “Lavi-clone” called J-10. π π :diablo:
Cheers, Deino
MiG and Mukhamedovs….Well I ment that the Shafaqh was the one looking similar as the I-2000…just trying to get my facts right about these Iraninan planes…
That’s exactly the point (or better to say the problem :diablo: !) as there was never a I-2000.
Cheers, Deino π
Thank You very much !!! π
