PL-8 AAM, 500 lb LGM and Blue Sky nav pad????

    A fully loaded JH-7/A

I’m not sure if tis picture isn’t a CG as it’s quite old and has been discussed several times long ago !

There’s a nearly identical GC made my “Singer” with a similar confifuration, the same angle … only depicted as a non-numbered machine !!

    Hi Deino,

It took me some days to come with a couple of answers for you but here I am:-)

The color scheme on the H-5 model seems to be right. I have in fact seen pics of similarly painted H-5 in PLAAF service.

I am attaching as well some pics of HJ-5 in PLAAF service.

Ohhhh You made my day !!!! THANKs a lot … and never mind the waiting !

    Cheers, Deino 😀

    A CG pic. :diablo:

Hmmm … very interesting and even as a CG this is maybe the first “realistic” CG of an improved J-10.

Anyway: Can’t wait to see more real J-10 pictures as it’s a very long time ago since the last new one.

    Thanks for posting, Deino 😉

Isn’t the the EC-175 also being sold to South Korea?

I think this will be a new design based on cetain components … but I’m not sure !?!

China already has the PT6 re-engined Super Frellon SA321/Z-12.

    Hmmm … this version is called Z-12 ???? …. I thought it’s called Z-8F !?!?!?!
But anyway its a very dated design similar to the latest updated J-8H/F’s which are also dated !

The Bk 117 was developed by MBB in Germany and Kawasaki in Japan in the early 1980s. MBB joined forces with Aerospatiale on France to form Eurocopter in the late 1990s i think.

It still has the family resemblance, but that would all the similairties it has with the orginal design of the 1980s. The EC-145 is a new design, though with strong family resemplance to the 117.

Any idea why the EC.145 is the only helicopter from Eurocopter who still retains the original tail rotor … why was this never changed to the now-typical Eurocopter style Fantail design ???

Hmmm … I have to admit that I’m not completely up-to-date with all the mix-up of this contract, but isn’t it slightly strange that two such different machines like the A.139 and the Rooifalk were shortlisted for the same requirement, esp. as they are in completly different categorys … the A.129 as a light type and the Rooifalk as a true heavy one ????

Wouldn’t it be better to choose a type like the Tiger …. and why was this one not in the competition ???

    Thanks in advance, Deino

But wouldn’t be this AW.149 a direct competitor to the EC.175 / Z-15 6t-helicopter currently under development with Eurocopter.

I think for the long term China and esp. the Chinese military needs a larger type in the class of the EH.101 Merlin or the S-92 from Sikorsky to replace the Z-8 and Mi-17/-171 types !

Any idea, if the Euromil Mi-38 could be an option for a co-development ???

SIX were built.and all of them are in good condition.

    SH-5,S =”shui” means “water” , H =”hong” ,equals “B”

yeah ,it is big ,with a minimal load of 5T .

    🙂

Hmmm … not sure about that: Even if 6 were built actually only 4 are in service numbered numbered 9113, 9123, 9133 and 9143 ! The first two were prototypes (no. 1 as a static test airframe and no. 2 in black/blue as the first flying prototype) … what happened to them !!!???? … I don’t know !

Quite interesting … this is a sattelite picture of the Qingdao naval base showing all 4 and below one remaining Be-6 ! …. and one new WIG !

    Cheers, Deino 😀

Just a question on the H-5 in Chinese service: I found this model with that smart blue-light grey colour scheme …. is or was that an authentic Chinese scheme or just a modellers “What-if” !

    Thanks in advance, Deino 😀

When people consistently alter images through Photoshop, then they deserve whatever skepticism they receive…

Agreed !!! … but why only with Chinese aircraft ??? Yes, here we can notice the most, the best (and also the worst PS’ed pictures) … but if You remember the faked delta-winged Su-47 everyone thought it was real … at first ! 😉

Yes, in this case this IS a photoshopped image of a B-2 at Edwards. The engine bay and weapons bay doors are a dead giveaway, for one.

    Yep …. 😀

I wouldn’t bet money on that.

ok, … agreed too, but in case of the B-2 I think it could be worth the risk … a bet on whatever flew from Northro … I think I would give a lot to know !!! :diablo:

    Cheers, Deino
