The original JH-7 did have a side by side configuration design. After all, back then the PLAAF and PLANAF were both involved with the project, while the PLANAF is happy with the tandem seating, PLAAF insisted on a PLAAF version with side by side seating. The failure to produce that particular version for the PLAAF meant the PLAAF later withdrew from the project.

I agree completely with You … and I think I’m one of the few who most like to see these early concepts ! But this drawing shown here looks very, very much like a “copy-paste” one – esp. if You take a look at the crew rescue capsule – !!

What do You think of the little fighter in the last picture ??? …. can someone translate please !!

JH-7 Side-by-side seating arrangement…???

Quite interesting as it was also studies for some time … but this one looks just like a copy & paste with a F-111 canopy 😡 … !

The JH-7’s fuselage is just too narrow to house a side-by-side arrangement !

What’s much more interesting is this picture !

Looks like a single seater ??? … or a Chinese AMX equivalent !!

I always asked myself why something similar to the Italian AMX was not developed as a Q-5-successor ! :confused:

I think the first one is fitted with a J-8II-nose … while the second pictures shows – for my opinion – a J-10 radome !

Have You seen the much more toned down PLAAF-emblem … it’s just a shade of grey 😉

I just compared the new H-6M picture with this older one …. do You think the number 81217 and the PLAAF-emblem were photoshoped in comparison to the light gry one in the new picture !

In the far right picture,the first fighter is probably an F-16. The other one appears to be the Russian space shuttle carried over that plane that the Russians developed to carry it – and I don’t remember its name. And I don’t mean the An-225. IIRC there was something before, more like in the shape of the plane in that picture.
Either way, it’s a space shuttle 😉

Hmmm … I don’t think this is a F-16 ! The wing is set much too high for my opinion !

Also the other plane in the first row is unknown for me … my first impression was of a JH-8 (?) fighter-bomber development of the J-8 but if You take a look at the 2nd picture it clearly shown only one engine ! So what is it !

By the way I don’t think the “space shuttle carrier” is á model of the Russian Spiral project … and also the BIG fighter seems to show Chinese markings !!! :confused: :confused:

Not only this F-108/MiG-25-like fighter is new ….. 😮 :confused:

Does anyone know what planes these are !! I can identify some J-8B’s hanging above them … but (from right to left) a a J-7, a F-108/MiG-25-like fighter, a Space-plane carrier, a delta winged fighter (maybe J-9) and two also unknown projects !!!

Does anyone know where these pictures are taken ????

Any other thoughts ????

Is this graph correct?? And whats the version of this J-8??

Sorry, but what’s so special with this J-8 ???

For me it looks like a standard J-8B late block or J-8D without the IFR-probe !

Very good picture! It seems that the Q5J program is rather far along. There are multiple two seaters in that picture.

???? … I think these are all K-8 !???
