Interesting summary on the Il-96TZ tanker program:

Is this the 12th prototype ?
No, actually the fourth after the two demonstrators 2001 and 2002 (now 2004) and the first real prototype 2011.
Altogether we now have also 2012, 2013 and 2015 !

Does AIRFIX and REWELL+ MONOGRAM already have J-20 modelled ?
So far there’s only the prototype in 144 and 72 from Trumpter and the pre-serials 201x will come this year … and Anigrand has a resin kit in 48.
Anyone know what engine is that they are testing on the Il-76?
That is the WS-20 for the Y-20A.
😀
I find it funny that so many post are discussing forth and back what Argentina needs and wants …. me too I want an Audi, BMW or Mercedes … but sadly I can only afford a VW for my family.
As such all these discussions are IMO pure Whif’s as long as the FAA cannot pay for them … even more there will be elections early next year … and then again this game begins !

Fantastic! Finally- real, and no Photoshop! Thanks!
But as far as I know it is not an operational one but one example standing in a museum with repainted flags ! Nothing more …
A nice family portrait …. 😮
To admit I’m probably now playing devil’s advocate but IMO there is much too much noise about this possible deal, one “source” simply copies from another and from a “working Group to analyse” now a “fixed deal to by the Typhoon killer” seems confirmed.
Therefore IMO the following “points” need to be considered:
It is indeed so far only a commission to discuss a possible cooperation and as far as he knows the FAA-structures from the Argentine side they will look at the offered system, analyze the pros and cons and will finally defer any decisions, due to three reasons:
1.on the 10. December 2015 a new government will be elected and in Argentina rarely a new government introduced a system just installed by the old one.
2.Seen from the military side for the FAA, the J-10 would indeed be the far better choice than the FC-1, because the FC-1 is no match for the pilots and aircraft of the neighboring states, however it surely has a much higher prize …
3.The biggest problem – especially in regard to how this is discussed here in the West – is that so far all the messages to “new” fighters for the FAA originated from the United Kingdom: Just look at this piece of BS regarding the purchase of former Russian Su-24 ! IMO the main reason for this is simply the RAF’s fight for a higher defense budget. Here especially playing the Falkland-card a bit is a huge boost to the British public ….
Therefore as long as a contract is not officially confirmed especially from the Chinese side I would be very careful.

Build a bigger FGFA of course. 🙂
And when they get done building their first NK-32’s in 2030, maybe they can refit some over to MKI’s. /sarc 😉
Ahhh … how could I missed it: A FGAFA Mk. 2+ and in mind of the now 6 completely different Tejas versions the naval-FGAFA needs another engine of course too. :stupid:
I think India should seriously look at NK-32/321 for licensing. It’s not like FGFA is an air superiority fighter. Even the original NK-32 operates with one engine in the power band they desire. Just think what they can do with the newer version. They are already working on updating it to fully digital controls and monitoring. It would cut down the program size considerably. They could refocus on more important aspects of the program.
Maybe in case I missed Your irony or sarcasm :dev2: … but what should India do with the Tu-160’s engine ???

:D:D:D
Yet another AMCA configuration. The graphics guy probably was down to three quarters of his old monk while doing the canopy.
Nice … but besides politics I still don’t get it why India and South Korea simply do not cooperate ?

New image of the Z-20 ….
In 1994 were built two of the rear fuselage MiG 1.42
The prototype of the MiG 1.44, collecting dust in Zhukovsky
Indeed only sad to see it dusting in time … are there any plans to display it at a museum some day ??
