PL10 is a copies Alenia Aspide missiles from Italy-based, with an infrared seeker, it is completely incapable LOAL, IIR seeker, all-aspect, the Chinese do not have access to this technology

Sorry to say so, but that is completely BS ! Do You have any source for this ?? An IR-equipped Alenia Aspide … sorry, but You surely mixed or missed something !

I’m sure You simply mix PL-10 with PL-11 … this is the PL-11, even your own link says so: http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-PLA-AAM.html#mozTocId280634

Deino, are you sure it’s 2 Z-10s and 1 Z-19? All 3 appear to be Z-10s? Notice the tail of the third chopper in the background appearing over the rear fuselage of the one in the foreground, similar to the other two. The Z-19 has a fenestron and enclosed tail rotor low down, and not mounted high on the tail like the Z-10s.

You are indeed correct. I only compared the back of the helicopters … But I missed that the first helicopter’s tail is ecaxtly in front of the back of the one behind and so it looked like a Z-19.

    Thanks,

Seems as if the Pakistan Army has received two Z-10 and one Z-19 for Evaluation … Seen here in a Hangar at the Dhamial Army Airbase in Pakistan.

    Ohhhh … so many mistakes ! 😡

    Jus a few:

    – PL-10: is the new ASRAAM-type IR-guided missile even if several uninformed sources – like the one above – assume it a AIM-7-like missile.

    – PL-11: is well known as an ASPIDE-copy became first operational with the J-8H and later J-10 …

    – PL-12: is an AMRAAM-like missile now operational with the J-8F, J-10, J-11B and J-15

… so much on “status unclear” or “different analysts made different associations” … some simply do not check or correct their sources !

To admit this news first posted by “kickars” at the SDF reported about a new development contract awarded for a future V/STOL-fighter …

The picture used is only an unofficial rendering which may or may not has anything to do with the end result. The article is simply saying the development contract has been signed on 20/03/2015. It was signed by AVIC’s Chengdu division. So looks like the project will be based in Chengdu. For the moment the contract is about the lift fan. We should hear more in the coming days or weeks I would guess. And the article also mentions the jet will be used by the navy/marine, which I think is just a guess from the writer.

    http://mil.news.sina.com.cn/2015-03-24/1720825565.html

    Later this was added:

According to the official website of the Group AVIC, the development of the engine for the project of a VTOL aircraft has begun. The article says that the project aims to increase the capacity of Naval Amphibious combat.

    http://www.avic.com.cn/cn/sjkb/402462.shtml

To admit first of all it sounds quite interesting, but how reliable is this ???

Not that I generally mistrust “mil.news.sina.com.cn” and especially not AVIC itself, but it surprises me … anyway if true I think the most likely option is indeed a research project similar to the J-31/FC-1 right now, that could later eventually led to a serial type.

Overall a step I highly recommend since China so far is not really famous for its research and experimental types to explore new technologies.

    “2014” doesn’t give sufficient hint? 😛

Honestly I only wanted to be sure (from the specialists) since just a few weeks ago I had a very harsh discussion in a Chinese forum, where a certain Indian member repeatedly showed us video-sequences and images of 055 as “proof” that it is already rebuild esp. since Sukhoi stated right after that mishap will be rebuild … he was really obsessed from that idea !

Even if tragic … IMO we won’t see 055 ever again in the air.

    Anyway thanks,

The story about M88-2 makes no sense. Probably poor editing or planted.

Actually it comes from this link:

    http://www.wantchinatimes.com/news-subclass-cnt.aspx?id=20150303000101&cid=1101

But once for all and once again !!! All reports coming from “wantchinatimes” can be – they actually have to be – ignored immediately !!!

That would be as if another obscure source would tell that the RuAF will buy Chinese J-20 and scrap the T50 program.

Kinda on the subject; it seem Antonov have a customer interested in An-178. Hopefully they pull it through as it seems to be a nice aircraft.

    Indeed ?? … Any info ?

To admit I think it’s a bit strange – similar to the many fifth-generation types currently under development in India, South Korea, Turkey, … – IMO it would be much better to develop a common airframe together instead of delaying development and getting at best something too late or in case of these fighter projects most likely never.

PS: Sorry to ask again … any news on the Chinese-Su-35-negotiations ??

Pakistan Air Force 4 Squadron re-equips with the KE-03 “Karakorum Eagle”. Fully operational and based at Masroor AFB

To admit I’m a bit surprised … I thought that type was already in service. Even more I’m surprised by the new designation KE-03 … any idea what’s the meaning of KE ??

Deino, is there any info out there on whether the H-6K bomber is a newbuild airframe, or a conversion?

From what I can gather on the net, it appears as if they are new airframes?

Yes … as far as I know they are indeed new-build !
