so top mig killer is not a “stupid thread” but bringing in the numbers from what american planes perish the most is? care to explain why?

No, like I tried to explain above – sadly without any reply so far – You need to explain why You include crashes and other mishaps in Your list even if they are surely not “intended” kills in the sense You always want to hear: Who (= what Russian fighter !) killed by aerial combat the most US fighters … that might be an interesting topic, but a list, that includes all other losts is plain uninteresting (esp. if You have loss-rates due to technical failures of other types in mind … MiG-21, F-104, …).

But Your reaction alone gives at least a hint that this was not Your intention …

Thanks … interesting, that it will be a new helicopter, but regarding the civil widebody, how could they have the design completed but are now discussing what both sides demand on this plane !???

Sorry, but what a stupid tread !! 😡

If You want to do it correctly then You need to collect all “lost due to mishap, crash or other” also for the Russian types You want to compare in the same way to get an objective comparison.

If You however – and then it’s fine too – simply want to put a list together of all these types lost due to enemy-action, then You need to leave all crashes out, that are related to technical failures.

If You are however sad that the “kill-record” of Your beloved Russian types is so bad in comparison to these Western types, then do not blame the West for giving their pilots all the necessary support of AEW; EW and so on or for having killed de facto the other Air Forces on the Ground before these types enter the scene.

If You however would love to se a real-word 1 on 1 engagement against Russian elite pilots in real war … then You are plain stupid.

Agreed, and that’s the main question for me: What is this JH-7B ??

Is it simply a MLU-program to modernise the current A-model with new avionics (new cockpit, AESA-radar, …) and expanded weapon capabilities (PGMs, the new YJ-12 ASM, …) until a true successor is abailable or is it in fact a new serial version, that now after the JH-7A will replace additional Q-5 (not that there are that many left !) regiments ??!!

Slight bump at the base of the fin? (or optical illusion?)

    1Saludo

No, that only seems to be so, since the outermost leading edge of the fin has the same colour as the background !

A question. Are the wingtip rails unique to this type (and are they pods or rails)? Oh and also are the canards in a different position to the Russian variant?

Sorry if they are dumb questions.

You mean on that Su-30MKK image posted just above ?? … to admit the wing-tip rails are the common Russian pylons used by the AA-11/R-73 (in contrast to the deeper mounted CHinese ones on the J-11B, BS and J-15 specialised for the PL-8). Quite interesting all J-16s noted so far have again these Russian-style pylons assiciated with the new PL-10.

Regarding canards I don’t understand Your post, since the Chinese MKK does not have canards.

Actually, Argentina is hopelessly trying to acquire an FC-1 which is not Chinese or Russian… But there is none, I am afraid. Ex-Qatari Mirage 2000-5s, anyone?

Overall I agree with You, but since when is the FC-1 / JF-17 not Chinese ???

Two interesting images I found related to the KC-390 … the first an older CG showing something like a Litening-pod under forward fuselage … is this indeed possible ? … and second a nice comparison.

Not 100% RuAF related (maybe), but does anyone have an information, what’s going on with that Il-96 ?? Especially strange (unique) to convert a former freighter version into a passenger version back again !??
