Could it be indeed true even if such blurred images more typical for the first unveiling of CHinese types, but this is said to be the ATD-X demonstrator …

Here’s supposedly a test of the YJ-18. Quite interesting to see it doing anti-intercept maneuvering before it hits the target.

If if the sequences before show not only the YJ-83 but also the older ‘Kraken’ is seen during launch … but the final hit is (at least said to be) the new YJ-18.

When you see these missile armed Japanese F-15s, common sense tells you that they are only reacting to Chinese aggression in the East and South China seas. With China acting as it has been lately it makes good sense to patrol the airspace armed.

Sorry, but why is it an aggression, when Chinese fighters are patrolling aremed in the Chinese ADIZ and no aggression, when Japanese armed fighters fyl in the Japanese ADIZ ??? Even more why should it not be aggressive, when armed Japanese fighters fly within the Chinese ADIZ ???

To admit I don’i get it why all this fuss about ADIZ here and there ? It#S all about politics and all both nations have to do – the earlier the better – is to sit on a table and talk about how to handle this cat & mice game and even more what about these Islands.

Interesting video published by the Chinese media, showing a PLAAF Tu-154M scrambled by a JASDF F-15J.
Also noteworthy the Japanese pighter carries the new AAM-5 SRAAM.

    http://news.ifeng.com/a/20140612/40709459_0.shtml

Quite funny, when the J-11 intercepted the Japanese P-3C, the Japanese were coplaining about the missiles …. now it seems (and for everyone with the slightest common sense more than understandable) the F-15J also had a missile under its wings … and that event was even before the latest interception.

And by the way it looks also quite close … maybe closer than 50m !

I think if this damage is reparable, it is surely worth to be done and even if it is only to explore how to do so.

Otherwise what could these stripes be (actually I don’t know) other than a composit material with the molten epoxy on structure above leaving the carbon fibres loose … again I do not know esp. since haven’t seen any damaged composits like that ?

Seconding TomcatVIP, looks like an electrical fire centred around the APU vent. Maybe related to that new high-power generator designed specifically for the PAK-FA and delivered for the latter prototypes. Official confirmation that ’55’ is a write-off:

Sorry for that but just to re-ask: if I read that message correctly, then they still assume it to be repairable ??? … or is it the wrong news ??

“Самолет подлежит восстановлению.” = The plane is restoration (or repairable) ???

Moscow, June 10. Today after the regular test flight of the T-50 aircraft at the airfield of the M.M.Gromov Flight Research Institute in Zhukovsky near Moscow, while the plane was landing, a smoke above the right air intake was observed, then a local fire broke out. The fire was quickly extinguished. The plane is to be repaired. There were no injuries. The Sukhoi Design Bureau set up a commission that will investigate the causes of the accident. This incident will not affect the timing of the T-50 test program.

At least the pilot is safe, however IMO it looks more dramatic (very much more !) than it sounds in the text !!

Russia heavy fifth-generation fighter has been determined to be T-50 this little question. However, the medium and the fighters have not been available. Recently, Russian-style blockbusters online PS MiG -35SF fifth-generation fighter scenario. Includes single single seat single type, two-seat, two-seat single seat type. Or a good idea, came to MiG-35 body improved, can reduce the risk. However, the programme looked at was so ugly!

Just found …. the so far most beautiful Typhoon !!!

“Eurofighter Typhoon in new, special Tiger Livery is freaking awesome”

Ahead of the Tiger Meet later this month, Bavarian Tigers have unveiled the very first Eurofighter Typhoon in complete Tiger livery.

NATO Tiger Meet (NTM) is an annual multinational exercise that gathers squadrons sporting Tiger (or feline) emblems. Among the highlights of the meeting, is the fact that combat planes and helicopters often sport spectacular color schemes, making the event a treat for all aviation enthusiasts.

Bavarian Tigers, founded on Mar. 18, 2013, by the 741 and 742 squadrons of the German Air Force’s Jagdgeschwader 74 in Neuburg, that took over the Tiger Spirit from the 321 Squadron / Jagdbombergeschwader 32, will take part to this year’s NTM (with spotters days on Jun. 19 and 23) at Schleswig – Jagel, in northern Germany.

To celebrate the attendance to the NTM2014, the Fighterwing 74 has painted one of its Eurofighters with an awesome, flamboyant tiger outfit.

Image credit: Bavarian Tigers/German Air Force

Let’s hope the cool paint job will survive at least for some mission: last year, one of the Polish Air Force F-16 Block 52+ was given a special paint, most of which, unfortunately, peeled away during the ferry flight to Orland, Norway, that hosted the NTM2013.

To admit even if most points of concern on the one side and on the other also all pros were mentioned, I’m actually surprised that only so few information was revealed so far, which gives that bird some kind of fishy taste IMO.

So far no timeline, no specifications, not even an artist impression … simply nothing more than the reports above.
