That’s simply amazing ! THANKs
To admit I have a problem – maybe I lack this ability ! – to estimate from this single and not very clear image the length, weight and even more the weapons-capability especially since this thing lacks everything we need to start our estimation !??
I agree with You that thing looks quite large like a regional high-speed (if supersonic ??) bomber but smaller than a true strategic bomber but since we don’t know anything – at least the engines to start with – any attempt can simply be only an attempt.
Lets assume two WS-15-class engines, this could indeed be the type I would like to see, but maybe it has only two WS-10, then it has to be quite smaller, lighter and therefore fits a different requirement … or maybe it has only RD-93/WS-13, then it is at best a Chinese F-117 !
By the way I don’t understand where You see different weapons bay … I see only one large one !

Following latest rumours this model is a concept model from SAC, which was rejected in the H-X RfP and the real H-X will be a design similar to the B-2 … however I have the feeling that there are actually two completely different and cemplementing projects: one for a long-range strategic bomber and one smaller for a supersonic striker.

A nice view of the pod(s):
What pod is this onther the right engine ????

Something like a F-23 & T-60 marriage !
But again, I think we should be careful to overestimate that “thing” … regardless how interesting it looks like !
I checked my hardrive since I thought I knew this design …. this one (saved in February 2010) shares some similarities at least !
Hu, what’s that ??? … a fan-art model made by the local Xi’an modeling club or – the Sharp Sword behind gives maybe a bit of credibility – this model looks at least as a model more than interesting … maybe, hopefully …
At least that thing could fit that so far unknown fuselage we saw at SAC !??
So let’s wait and hope. Besides that anyone with an idea where this model is on display ?

j-20 is much bigger than f-22
…
You simply don’t get it !???? … all photographic evidence show that the J-20 is actually shorter than a Flanker (esp. J-15/Su-33 with a length of 21,19m) … as such I really don’t understand why You still think it is “much bigger than” a F-22 (with a length of 18,87m) !!! … only if for You nearly 90 cm are “much bigger”.

Reportedly an ARM-version of the PL-12 is under development as well as the new PL-15 is said to be a dual-role missile !
Regarding the Kh-31: this missile is only operated by the Su-30MKK/MK2 and in the Chinese version YJ-91.

Still waiting for ‘2003’ !!!
Congrats !! Even if I still have serious daubts about Your development direction it’s indeed an intersting design … keep on and please post mere (nad larger) images, since these look like a CHinese stealth fighter taken with a handy-camera from about 1 km away! 🙂

@ both !
Thanks guys … I realy missed that chine even if I’m not sure if it is actually a real-chine or simply due to this sketchy representation !

I’m getting tired of “Goldust” and “PLA-MKII” bringing the JF-17 into every thread, so here’s something for you guys to salivate over…a potentially new “stealth” version of the JF-17 spotted in a promo video on the PAC website…and it includes a DSI!! 🙂
Sorry, but could You please explain where this version is more stealthy than the current serial version, which already has a DSI !!!????
Oh come on: a few months ago everyone would have made damn jokes if one had said, we will see a Chinese flying wing design of that size that year.
Now we have it and all we hear is that stupid Ch… use an AB, it is hardly an innovative design (tell me any of these design which do not share a similar solution).
Why can’t You simply take this thing what it is: a testbed, a flying lab and one that most likely – in my stupidity – uses a best suitable engine given the thrust-requeirements, maybe even budget and timeframe to test it in the air … if a flat non-afterburning nozzle would be much better, if the US and other European designs are maybe much more advanced is simply not the question regardless what some of us might think.
By the way: if it was a Russian design some the same guys would surely cry out lout “Oh look, what an innovative design solution, it even has an AB, it surely is a stealthy super-maneuverability UCAV !
