Funny … they use the Chinese XXJ/J-14 CG to “illustrate” their own new type !!! 😀
Deino
Maybe someone might be interested in that topic ! 😉
…
A Flanker by any other Name
How the Chinese came to make their own version of the Russian Su-27 Flanker.
…
Interesting ! Any info, who’s the author of that report ??
Deino
😀
Finally … but still with these nasty HSH-stamp on it ! 😡
PiPu’ writeup in this month’s AI is pretty informative though.

Yes, but in mind of what some here only like to read/hear, like the fully equipped prototype, the new engines, already doing weapon testing and “NO” problems it is a very critical report and some would be not very happy. Especially the structural problems sound more seriously than even I expected. 🙁
Deino
Hmmm … in mind of the date today I’m still sceptical, but I agree that doesn’t look like a static test frame and there are indeed some changes to 2001 … as such I will wait a bit until I open the bottle of Chmpagne !
Deino
As much as i wouldn’t want to, i’ll still scream PS on that one, until proven wrong (hopefully), it’s just how many bloody PS images were done by various useless gits in front or around those hangars? Why would they move the star anyway?
But it would be great if that will be proven to be the long awaited 2003.:)
I agree with You to be sceptical but with this latest photo I would say we got him !!!
are the ventral-fins missing?
No … simply due to the lightning-conditions.
Is this the mentioned prototype …. ????
Can we go back to a more serious kind of discussion please … I just feel like being on a Kindergarden’s playground !
Anyway … Following several rumours and additional VIP-visits during the last days at CAC finally this (top-part) image was posted at the SDF … look at the star ! So, could that be the second prototype ???
Deino
Sorry, but can anyone ban that man ??? That grey looks nice but together with this bueish-geenish-light grey (or whatever that colour is called !) 😮
Deino
Mock ups are fine for crew training and for carrier equipment testing. It seems Varyag is ready to receive real aircraft. I wonder if J-15 pilots also practice carrier take offs and landings on carrier mock up.
Not on a real carrier mock-up but at the CFTE in Xian-Yanglian … just take a look at GE and You can clearly see a ski-jump take off + ramp.
Varyag 16.3.2012 … the arresting wires and tie down cables were finally installed !
They are newer links than the ones you provided so the story is still ongoing.
nothing stopping you from reading the spanish version either. go plug it into babelfish.again, stop trying to kill the messenger. if you have issues with the message complain to RT and RIAN. Other wise I’d have to report you for harassment
I think I at least expect at least some kind of common sense from the messenger especially in regard to conflicting news, but as You linke … I will calm down, let You post Your BS and take You on my ignorer list !
So long and have fun.
Deino
no its actually quite simple see
China buys 100 Flankers, then makes another 100 copies. Total 200 Flankers, but Russia only see’s profit from the first 100.
if Russia got China to respect its technology, then it could sell 200 instead of 100.
then this technology goes into other projects that compete with Russian goods.
You are really funny !
You ask me to calm down and not to take this China-Su-35-issue personally or too seriously but in fact You seem to be the one, who’s obsessed with that Sino-Flanker issue, You still mix wrong information, rumours and long-rejected issues … WHY ???
Too much wishfull thinking ??? … or some kind of komplex !?
Just to make it short:
1. This interest has been rejected, confirmed as wrong, denied … so why do You still put it on the agenda agin with even more unrealistic ideas about 100, 200 … why not 500 ?? This deal is a What-if … accept it,
2. even the head of Sukhoi confirms that China does not copy the Flanker (to admit the Su-33/J-15 issue is another story), simply since China actually receives deliveries from Russia and pays for those parts … they only do not build the original dated version.
3. China never built a single Flanker for export !
But if You still want to hang on on “Whif’s” – but be careful, “flatetic” don’t like such things ! :diablo: – especially mated with words like “will”, “should”, “could” “might be” …. the please carry on.
