Does my head in as well, we have no problem with the phones connecting to the wireless in the morning and picking up the routers, however by the evening the laptop is fine but the phones don’t connect, only option being to unplug the router, let it cool a bit and start it up again. For once the old ‘turn it off and on again’ really does work.

As for the different o/s the amount of time spent configuring them to work how I want, why do they have to try and be clever and hide stuff away or think that all users are idiots who shouldn’t play with registry settings, OSX or Windows just as bad as each other. Having said that Vista wasn’t too bad but Windows 7 has been a bit of a pain, might just skip 8 completely.

I suppose it is all a bit like the rubber deck trials, an interesting theoretical exercise but when put like that it is amazing that the skyhook concept is mentioned so much in Harrier books as it must have been a popular concept at some point.

Considering how much more effort and fuel would be required to ‘dock’ after a patrol and possibly in the dark compared to just dropping down onto a heli deck which has a slightly larger target area it really any competition.

Two other thoughts on this would be on smaller ships the Skyhook concept and secondly could a cat launch be combined with a ski ramp for the 1154 or would this have been too risky a combination and restricted the use of any carriers for conventional aircraft as was seen with the recent carriers being specifically for the SHars and choppers?

I think sometimes it is just nice to have things because you can, the old Dinky Toy aircraft are a good example, got quite a few mint in box and even if they don’t get played with it is nice to know they are there.

Try to keep down the amount of kits though as it’ll probably be the kids that end up making them otherwise at some distant point in the future.

You do realise the olympic brand police are probably going to shut down this thread/forum/server/internet for a non-official use of the logo by a sponsor.:dev2:

The UK took delivery of its 1st F35

With the cuts in budget it’ll be the only one we get as well.

As of late, I’ve read a few titles focusing on certain aspects of WWI air combat…namely the German Albatros series.

If you like it have a look at the development of this thread over on SPS. Stunning work by Dave which reflects his exhaustive research on the subject and will be hard to beat. He is however always on the look out for more info on the subject.

Any idea what happened to the other old Harriers which were at Cottesmore such as the GR1 and a couple of FA2s?

Ok next question Denis, what was the delay between the first run and the second, seemed to be sitting there for a very long time idling, did Bob just want to go and get his camera for the snap of it next to the Lightning?
