I remember seeing the Pucara on it’s way to Yeovilton slung under a Chinook, lovely set of photos and that’s exactly how I remember Yeovilton in the 80s, Harriers, more Harriers and even more Harriers. Thank you for sharing such great photos.

Dear Santa I promise to be really really good all year long.

Fly in a Harrier, doubt I’ll ever get to now but I can still dream.

BBMF take on events.
It’s a shame about the events that have led to this story but the response has been astounding.

The caller was a taxi driver, and ex RAF, and he offered to pick up Eric, take him to Coningsby, and after a day at the BBMF, take him home too, all without charge (he insisted it was FOC despite Eric wanting to pay him).
I’m sure the driver was looking for an excuse to go and sure he’ll get almost as much as Eric out of the visit, and the opportunity to chauffeur a veteran would be a good tale to tell.
Plus the BBMF have more than just the one ‘craft’!

to have a stick on thing applied by some faceless bod using a computer takes it all away from me. i cant get it all in words but im sure there will be someone out there who will write my thoughts.
I would be careful to so quickly dismiss computer based art, I certainly would not consider myself a ‘faceless bod’ and just as much skill goes into using software as it does watercolours, acrylics, oils etc.:)

What exactly is wrong with using vinyl, is it a question of wishing for authenticity on airframes? Whilst I can appreciate where you are coming from how much of many of the restored aircraft are actually factory original parts? Unless you are very close to the fuselage you wouldn’t be able to tell so does it really matter?
