Recently finished Quill’s Spitfire and the logical follow up is Henshaw’s Sigh for a Merlin, both very enjoyable.

Am I missing something or is the thread getting a little lost? As I understand the initial post it was not the design of the flying surface/wing/delta or what ever term you want, it was more the surprising similarities between the cockpit and nose area of the Northrop drawing and the production Vulcans.
When were the Northrop drawings produced and do the originals still exist to accurately date and compare with those of the Vulcan and I can’t help wondering if this is a hoax, but then I’ve not seen the evidence to back it all up.
Even if Chadwick wasn’t involved officially he may well have had some unofficial input and IF he had seen the designs at Northrop it is conceivable, however such a conclusion would need some good solid evidence to tie it all in.
Don’t know about that one but I’ve heard other similar tales of one station clearing out all the toilet rolls of another and returning them via an airdrop.
Puts the student protests in perspective, a lot more involved, a lot less trouble.

Not a bad idea and they’d be better off swapping the Lanc for a Gladiator and the Bollingbroke as it’s nearly a Blenheim and do they really need that Dakota? It’s only a financial drain, after all in these times of austerity they really should be true to their name and only be a Battle of Britain flight!;)
Or just poach four Griffons and pretend it’s a Shackleton instead! :diablo:
Remembering that it isn’t the only air worthy lanc and there is an outside chance we may see another why not just use it as a hangar queen and get a Shackleton up again? 😮
But I bet they can’t change one as fast as the guys at McLaren though. 😉
I wouldn’t know I don’t have Sky 😉
Saw the tweet and glad it was only a minor issue and the Lanc and crew are all safely on the ground
BBMF have plenty of other Merlins lying around their hangars, just poach one out of a Spitfire and hope that no one notices!
Reading on his blog he didn’t want to use it to generate power, just try it and see if it was possible to build a nuclear reactor in his kitchen, a bit mad but it is the inventors like this that come up with the next revolutionary idea!

Just thing long and hard about what you’re doing, how much it will cost over a lifetime and then go and buy a classic warbird instead! It may give you a headache but will never have a headache:diablo:
