Rugby (it’s like american football but without the padding and far less interruptions unless you get a bad ref)
The rest

At last, proper Harriers!
I do like that ‘Arctic’ distemper scheme.
Don’t you mean the SHars, now they are the proper Harriers 😀
Not sure if it was before your time but Wyverns were test flown from there during the 1950’s, so any pics of these would be appreciated!
By the time I was really aware of what was in the air it was rotary only but I’ll ask if anyone has some photos.

Living near the M1 we do get some stuff heading in to East Midlands and if really lucky a Lynx or Puma following the M1 but that is sadly it. Had a great view of Merryfield (Yeovilton satellite) when growing up and still plenty of very low flying stuff when home for a visit.

new one for me but a real classic
I can’t find it but am sure I recall a presenter back in the 60s being clipped by an aircraft during a low pass, think it may well have been on the Points West local news and could have been at Weston Zoyland
Looking for any Harrier II parts now please. Anybody ?
Cottesmore next month? :dev2: And I’m sure there will be a carrier to park it on as well for the right price.
Do keep us updated though on progress.
Really look forward to seeing her flying next season I hope, looks stunning
Got any more of the Argosy? I’ve passed this link on to my uncle who used to fly them and might be interested.
I think Jon Snow had a valid point if it is assumed that he is required to wear a poppy then it could be inferred that people wear them for the wrong reasons (because everyone else is) and don’t fully appreciate or understand the symbolism or meaning behind the poppy.
However don’t forget this article is from 2006 and I don’t know what he is doing this year.

I am under the impression that Help for Heroes is to help those who come back injured that the previous and current government aren’t willing to support where as the Poppy Appeal is as the article says to remember.
As a slight deviation from the thread, it was nice to see that whilst at the Leicester Tigers last night the Tigers all had a poppy printed on their shirts and the club has, as I understand, made a donation to the cause.
Well you can ! tomorrow Portsmouth.
Would be nice, but a long way to travel, know of anything at Wittering or Cottesmore, they are just down the road.
