Looking at the picture on the BBC website I’m wondering if the port gear has been pushed up through the wing.
Similarities to the BA 777 at LHR in terms of damage to that area perhaps?

Big tick for them. Puts us to shame. Just goes to show what you can do with a little effort and not get paranoid that some else will get hold of them in the future and make you look silly.

When I was putting out a lane closure on a motorway and a lorry driver decided to ignore all of the advance warning signs. As he approached me he gave me various hand signs and then proceeded to demolish my cones and signs as drove through them without making any effort to change lanes. Bits flying through the air over my head.

There always will be war films. Some make epics. I’ve just read Vulcan 607 and think that would make an excellent film.

When I flew out of LGW last week did I see the one that used to be on display there hiding behind a building down near the fire dump?
Could have sworn I got a quick glimpse as we were rolling down 08R.
Anyone know the plans for her?

Now what will really make you cry after you’ve bought your expensive flat screen is OLED.
That’s Organic LED I believe. Have a google search and you’ll find out about it. It should be with us in force in about five years time. Basically very very thin and highly energy efficient. Quality is better than anything else.
Think I’ll stick with my old box and wait for OLED than spend hundreds now on an LCD to find it out of date almost straight away.

For instance, what if Airline A were to ‘encourage’ each of their employees to place a series of small bets on Airline B going bump in the night? Acting as private individuals rather than as employees, naturally.

Airline B’s shareholders could see the odds on its demise shortening, or may see reports to that effect in the media, and might decide to cut their losses – with predictably dire results for Airline B.

I quite agree. Similar scenerios to what happened years ago in the old BA/Virgin dirty tricks campaign. Do whatever to undermine your competitor. Thankfully we have fairly strong regulation these days. If an airline tried that these days it would cost them hundreds of millions in fines. I suppose you could argue they could possibly put themselves out of business as a result.

Reminds me of a time we took a 737-200 in somewhere that had blocks of flats quite close when you were on short finals. Caused the GPWS to go off. Even got me going for a minute. Don’t think the pax at the front who heard it were over impressed. New trousers required.

From what I recall it was Truleigh Hill. It was about a guy who pionered a lot of things and had some historic gliders there. It had quite a bit of info on the area and some of the things that went on around there. Sorry I can’t remember any more.

Many Thanks to all of you for saving me £320.
I thought about buying a digital camera body this week but then I looked again at all the pics on these forums. Absolutely stunning from all of you. No point me even trying. Keep going, we appreciate it.

Had a few Sierra’s. Last being a 2.0 GLX. S*** off a shovel, loved it. Bought a Mondeo, hated it. A mound of s***.
Went to Volvo for some class. Anyone lend me some money for a new XC60?
