I remember some great days at Biggin. And North Weald now I think about it. It all seemed to start going down hill when the EU rules on insurance started to kick in which seemed to limit the aircraft which displayed on a regular basis. Happy to be corrected on that by someone with better knowledge than me.
Best shows for me now are Dunsfold and Shoreham. Not of the same grand scale but the same feel about them.

Might be worth an email to your MP asking him to bring it to the attention of Nick Herbert who is the minister in charging of policing issues.
Nick is my local MP and I have to say he is good at giving a personal response to questions. He doesn’t normally duck issues.

Back in the 90’s I was working on charter flights out of Blackpool down to Jersey with our 42’s & 72’s. Maybe the local residents are getting more exotic with their choice of weekend stay?

Glad to hear some good news at last. I wonder if as well as theft they can make out a charge of endangering the safety of an aircraft? Bit vague considering the checks I’m sure you make before flight but maybe worth asking the question.

Let me know if you decide to do a night time vigil. Happy to come down and help out.

I’d have thought it still has a value as a deterrent along the lines of ‘don’t bother because this is what we did last time’ I take it we still have the modern equivalent down there?

    Another thought

Use a water cat repeller device filled with SMART water

    1. Set up an stand alone tank. Make it an easier target than your a/c. Alternatively use a PWU aircraft.
    2. Fill with contaminated fuel with added extras ie sugar etc etc
    3. Sit back and wait for it to get nicked
    4. Watch with amusement as said thieves break down/knacker their own engines
5 Unlikely they will come back for another fill

    Alternatives/Add on’s

Search Google for ‘trip wire gate alarm 12 gauge blank gun’ much legal fun:)
Added to 12v pir lights and some hidden CCTV in the trees

Oh did I forget to mention the stinger device you forgot you left out in the dark by any vehicle access point? Or the 12v electric fencing unit attached to the gate.

Worth seeing if they like a particular day and surprising them one night with a K9. In this part of the world Sat night Sun morning seems to be the fav.

Always make sure they work for their fuel!

Emptied out the deleted items box of my work computer and then found that I’d also lost a presentation it took me nearly two days to put together.
Had to work at home over the weekend to try and recreate something similar for a presentation on the Monday. How dumb was that?

Had you been advertising this job ten years ago after I’d finished my cabin crew career and just passed my City & Guilds Advanced ops certificate I’d have been banging on your door at 9am in the morning!
Sadly I’m now out of date, based on the south coast and in another career. Would have loved to have done some ops and maybe done some loadmaster work for those aircraft.
