It was owned by three people two wanted it scrapped, the one i got the remaining bits wanted to keep it. When i told him what it was worth he had a blue fit. Hard to put a price on, but allot of cash thats for sure. The sad thing is that it made it to the late 80s just a little research would have told them it was worth keeping in one piece. I also have the cams and mags so not all was lost.

Here is a Kestrel supercharger and carb that I own. Believe it or not they came from an engine that was complete and running in the 80s broken up for scrap!

    Hello Tim

Tried to call Bill with no answer but have emailed him. As I understand it his friend mark is bringing him down and I have also contacted mark to see if this is still the case. Either way i can arrange transport and or accomodate him in a local hotel if required.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I already know about the nose wheel coversion, I think you will find that you have one from a much later Mk XVI they found that due to the extra weight of the new engine the Spit would tip on its nose without a nose wheel.
I in fact have the original design from K5054 which will also be on sale at Shoreham. I hope this answers your question ?

    Andy

I really wish you would not offer parts from MY airoplane K5054 as prizes at Shoreham.
I will be bringing a large reel, of ORIGINAL copper wire, a propellor and airframe all from K5054. I will have my lap top so if you need authentification I can type one out for you. I have letter heads from most of the top auction houses so you can choose. I also have quite allot of the ORIGINAL fibreglass panels which will also be for sale. Of coarse such rare stuff wont be cheap, fibreglass panels will start at £5000.
While Mr Saunders may claim he has parts from this aircraft all his are fake, I own it all, int tat rite gov?

Yes Andy you are well informed telecommunications copper cable was used due to its quality and tensile qualities.

Clearly K5054 parts are not very rare and therefore of little value, I may have to put the airframe on ebay, I am sure you are all aware the prototype contained a good deal of fibreglass?

I actually have 5 original K5054 propellors in a variety of tasteful colours so ALL yours are fakes!!!

Ok lets see your authentic paperwork to back this up, if its badly spelt with lots of corrections in tipex they may be genuine, this being the case i would like to offer £500,000 for the five? do you have one in lime green?

    Hello Mr Saunders

I am happy to report that my forms and payment have been completed and are on their way to your illustrious self. Please confirm that I will be able to purchase the original prop form K5054 as this is the main reason for my attendance.

    Your humble servant

    Graham J Adlam
