There are certain individuals on here who never wanted the Vulcan to fly .

Yes, you are entirely correct some did not want her to fly. Others will be relieved when she is finally grounded. Not necessarily the same people.

    Meh

I should clarify. I don’t feel the need for constant updates TBH

I am sure everybody is happy it flew

They put their own self serving greed before the good of the nation.

I thought this was the Bankers?

    oh and Tories of course

The point is that you could aim the same comment at a wide range of people. To say all trade unionists are self serving is about as logical as saying all Tories are self serving, and as accurate ( just in case I am not making my self clear- I don’t think either statement is true)

Labour won’t be calling the shots it’ll be the unions. Then you’ll see some rather agreeable mayhem.

And the problem with this is?
Things have to change, what we have at present is making the country even more divided, as can be seen in microcosm on this forum. A bit of mayhem in politics and more engagement, particularly by the young ( which is what really scares the tories I think) may be good for us in the long run

As articles like this from Pob shows , it seems the establishment is running a bit scared

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/Jeremy_Corbyn/11861281/jeremy-corbyn-ruin-britain-michael-gove.html
It’s bo**ocks of course, as one would expect from him. It Is a classic example of using half truths and conjecture to reinforce a partisan perspective. Well put togther, but still bo**ocks

( sorry, just wanted to light the blue touch paper….another slap on wrist)

Seriously, as Tom Watson said in his victory speech today, what should be taking place is a constructive dialogue with unions and industries, such as has continued for fifty + years in Germany. Their economy seems to have done very well following such practices. Demonising either side is counterproductive as has been shown over the past 35 years. The unions, the blue tories and the red tories are equally at fault in this in my view

You’ve obviously never heard the BRM V16 then!

I saw Nick Mason’s example run a few times. Not bad for 1.5 litres

But this takes the prize for sound quality.

I have stood this close on warm up on a couple of occasions. Nothing has come close, not even a Merlin on full chat, for sending hairs on the back of the neck tingling

Nick Hurd Tory MP is suggesting a bit of caution for the rest of his party, as is tory MEP Daniel Hannen

His tweet may be relevant to some of the above comments on here?

Congrats to @jeremycorbyn on stunning victory. Caution my party against complacency. Cocky Tory always a bad look.

Should clarify, it is the complacancy rather cocky I am referring to.

PMQ’s should be more entertaining, at least for the short while before he is ousted.

Having Tom Watson as Deputy should bring their media strategy into the 21st century and should not be underestimated, as this piece in the Torygraph outlines. In many ways may be more significant in the long run than Corbyn

    Trekkie,

I think that you are ‘big’ on statistics. Here’s one that you’ll find significant; altho’ you won’t admit it. Britain has GIVEN £900 million to Syria for the purposes of aid and relief
    .
This is the other significant bit; this total is more than all the other member states of the EU put together. What do you think of that ? Let us have the benefit of your thoughts.

I have told you before John, I feel no need to answer your premptory demands. Were you once used to people saying ‘how high’ when asked to jump? Sorry, don’t work anymore.

However, on this occasion I will respond.
Rather than “you won’t admit it” I entirely accept the information. Indeed as you know, I have always applauded the coalition and now this tory govt’s commitment to overseas aid. It is the one positive statistic in the whole sorry mess Cameron has got himself into on this subject.

What I mean by being ashamed and being belittled is the lack of response to accepting refugees here in addition to all the financial support

I notice he is already changing his tune on Syrian refugees.

    EU-Scepticism has never been higher

    Evidence?

I mean real evidence not conjecture
