Lincolns at Binbrook

I was at at RAF Binbrook January/September 1947 with 617 Squadron Goodwill Tour to the USA/Canada 16 Lincolns. The Lincoln was a great aircraft and good to work on. I was Instruments with Fl/Sgt Thorpe.

Throughout the whole tour of the USA/Canada the Lincolns gave little or no trouble, and all 16 aircraft landed at Gander Newfoundland just 4 minutes beyond the scheduled ETA.

From an Instrument point of view the Lincoln very much resembled the Lancaster, and we had fond memories of the whole tour.

How long were you at Binbrook.?

I went back to Scampton after the Goodwill Tour.
