Did anyone think to put a cam in the cockpit?
Yes. And another on the nose landing gear. The lift is going to be the subject of a BBC documentary later this year.
Do you have access to replacement canopies for the F.8 and Javelin?
We think we may have an F.8 one lined up but if you can help with a Javelin it would be good….
Looking at the Demobbed site, if this is what is called stored god help the new arrival!
That’s why the building is so crucial! The F.8 is looking so much healthier after last summer’s TLC…

Bought for £3,000 I wish I had room for it. Still another one saved and in a good place. Does anyone know if it still has its engines?
No engines, no instruments but 9 years’ worth of rainwater in the ventral tank!
I hope they can do something with the T.7 already at Staverton.
There are two. The museum’s WF784, purchased with a grant from Tewkesbury Borough Council was gate guardian at RAF Quedgeley. The Airport’s own T.7, WL349, was gifted by the RAF. It was partially stripped of paint about 8 years ago in preparation for an abortive plan to put it on display at Meteor Business Park (where the Messier Dowty factories are).
There are no immediate plans for either airframe, which are stored near the new museum site, but one might be a suitable ‘fuselage donor’ for the museum’s F3 cockpit section.
There are now 6 Meteors at Staverton in total and another expected later in the year. I wonder if anywhere else has any more?

Really positive local and national media coverage…

Was it really just a mile and a half move?
Yes! It was in the air for less than five minutes.

Did i read somewhere that the museum wanted to repatriate the Thunder City Javelin back to the UK from South Africa, or is that a Jav too far ?
Rob
We’d love to bring that Javelin home! We were outbid at the auction when Mike Beachyhead took it too South Africa…

Would this count as her last flight?
Certainly the first and last fixed wing ‘flight’ from RAF Innsworth.
The Jet Age Museum at Gloucester will definitely be up and running by then
Very early days, but the project is officially underway with commencement of construction of the bulkhead jigs.
Excellent news! I always make a point of dropping in whenever I cross the border. Great collection, very well presented!
The building shell is nearing completion and, last weekend, a pair of original GAC factory gates were installed at the site.

Yes, we’ve visited their project and they’ve been exceptionally generous with their plans and support.
Jed, Stoke Orchard is very much the inspiration for the project. A former GAC shadow factory as well as the home of No.3 GTS, as well as the significant contribution Gloucestershire’s other airfields made to glider assaults.
The Gloucestershire Environmental Trust company, which awarded the grant, is funded by Cory Environmental, who manage the tip at Stoke Orchard and pay the Landfill Tax.
PM when you’re back and I’ll tee up a visit and for you to meet the guys behind the project.
The Jet Age Museum has just been awarded a grant of £9000 to build a Horsa cockpit replica. I’ve started a separate http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?t=123164
