    Not really spotted recently, but it was this year (just). On the 4th January I was driving past the end of Kemble and saw a Spitfire doing touch and goes. I had to pull over turn off the engine and open the windows to listen to the goose-bump inducing Merlin….. It’s made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up just thinking about it!!! Beautiful

    Excellent film, and such a beautiful elegant aircraft. Such a shame that the replacement is none of the above!!!

    Very different seeing the manually controlled take-offs and landings as opposed to any recent videos of the Harrier with much more integrated and computer controlled take-offs and landings. That must have been an exciting ride!

    I agree – may be our navy should get some, they must work really well of a ship, say an aircraft carrier…. Oh wait, we don’t have any of them either…….:):mad:

    Outstanding programme, I was glued from the moment it started to the very last second. My only grip is the actual flight in the Lancaster seemed a little rushed in the end and we didn’t even get to hear how she flew from Colin (surely one of the luckiest blokes alive to get to fly a Spit a year or so back and then the Lanc last year! – not at all jealous…)

    If you haven’t seen it yet, get on iplayer….. now!!:)
