The Mustang will be used for multi-engine training.

Thaks for imforming me and putting me straight on that TEEJ.
I still think low level ingrees is inherently more dangerous than medium level but it obviously has its place for certain mission sets.
No problem. Thanks for the reply.
Sharkey Ward has been mentioned in the forum. I was fortunate to photograph his son, Chris, flying low level through the Mach Loop in the UK.

It is also the whole reason the RAF switched tactics to medium altitude attacks from that point onward and continuing till this day.
Where are you getting your info from? Low level has never gone away from the RAF. Even USAF F-15Es practice and conduct low level training in the UK.
Example of log showing RAF types training low level at RAF Spadeadam range in UK.

This isn’t true, they switched to medium altitude because the loss rate was unacceptable at low levels.
One of the myths of the 1991 GW, I’m afraid. During the first few days there was a planned low-level phase. This was carried out not only by the RAF.
See my post at the following.

Thanks for the explanation guys. I thought I was seeing things! 🙂

What is going on with that 2001 number on the first image?

We called it nano because it’s grainy and tiny;)
It IS GaoShan’s Art, but he is NOT the one creating fake news using CG art, He is just a great artist….
Thanks very much for the detailed explanation.
🙂
TJ
Starikki,
Has the recent ‘in flight image’ been proved as fake?
http://lt.cjdby.net/archiver/tid-1046452-page-1.html
I notice the translation states ‘Nano’. ?
‘This map is absolutely false Nano has been confirmed! !’
Is it GaoShan art that has been used?
Thanks

SOC suggests Iran may have S-300PTs
http://geimint.blogspot.com/2008/03/iran-and-s-300pt.html
Open-source reporting indicates that Iran has purchased the S-300PT SAM system from Belarus. The S-300PT will represent the most modern, advanced SAM system in Iran when it is operationally deployed.
‘Belarus has not sold S-300 air defense systems to Iran’
http://rt.com/politics/iran-belarus-s300-missiles/
http://democraticbelarus.eu/node/3184
Think about it? Why are the Belorussians so vocal about it? One activation of an S-300 associated radar in Iran would have the US organising a witch hunt. The US would be out to embarrass any nation that sold Iran S-300s under the counter.
Belarus has for a number of years had economic sanctions imposed on it by the US. The last thing that they want is further hassle if S-300s and associated radars are found to be in Iran. Iran would have to integrate these S-300s into their armed forces which involves activating their radars. They can’t just switch them on when the preverbial hits the fan.

Rodolfo,
You can see from the following how claims such as this can quickly develop and get out of hand. The claimed combat-damaged F-117 as of 2009 developed into a B-2!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zolt%C3%A1n_Dani
Although Ret. Col. Zoltán Dani does not comment on the allegation (although Dani’s wartime second in command Lt Col Đorđe Aničić does), as of mid-2009 some Hungarian aviation journalists claim one of these two events was a real hit on a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber, which was either totalled or extensively re-built after an overseas crash landing (this plane was previously believed to be another combat-damaged F-117).
TJ
Just one F-117 downed but another one damaged beyon repair. Those facts implied the end of the “stealth = invisible = invincible” propaganda.
Incorrect. Every single F-117 that took part in the conflict was noted active after the conflict, obviously less serial 82-806. Remember where they operated from and also the spotter community in Europe?

I can’t believe the fact that given how close people can get to the airfield, none of them seems to have a decent high-res camera with a strong lens to take some clearer pictures
Most of the pics and vids so far seem to have ben done with camera phones or low res cameras
Probably because nobody wants an expensive DSLR and telephoto lens confiscated? There is no photography signs up. It appears that video phones and small cameras are tolerated, but if you were a Chinese citizen would you risk turning up with a DSLR and long lens?
Even if someone was brave enough to chance it, what would they do with the high res shots? Certainly not publish them on Chinese forums and draw attention to themselves? Remember this is China where people have been reported to have got in hot water over posting certain images and info on monitored internet boards.
TJ
yup.
and yup. that’s a detail shot of how close the guys on the fence and buildings were to the thing.
now, all we need is for one of them to snap couple good ones.
The people on top of that building are about 475 metres away. 475 metres from the building to the centre of the aircraft parking area off runway 20. The image was obviously taken from the area just beyond the permiter fence on the eastern side.
The following video link shows just how close people can get while still outside the airfield. I make it roughly 65 metres.
