As a mere outside observer, this looks very dicey. Am i wrong in thinking that aircraft generally carry way more fuel than required for a leg?,What would have happened had their been bad weather to force a go-around or diversion? if, as claimed in the article the aircraft was so low on fuel it could not go around, it’s options would be to attempt to land in adverse weather or crash!!(God Forbid) Someones head must roll if the aircraft really was so low on fuel it HAD to land first attempt.
Shouldn’t the concept of ‘national airline’ be obsolete and done with by now?
I believe that in many parts of the world it is indeed obsolete Kabir, certainly here in UK that is definitely the case.We have a large airline that serves London and several other airlines serving elsewhere, so, no airline could really use the tag “National” the nearest airline to a national airline in UK would easily be FlyBe.
Looks like everybody’s favourite – British Airways – will continue to be the national carrier for the UK, including Scotland.
Emm… really, the airline that has a whopping 3 routes from Scotland, all terminating in the same city!! If that is Scotland’s national airline, what is FlyBe,BMI, BMI Baby??? London Airways are very definitely NOT Scotland’s national airline:mad:
Great stuff thee.
We’re always happy to help out the wee airports here at GLA:dev2::dev2:
Not sure you can get in that way either now, i tried a couple of weeks ago and dropped up to my knees in a marsh:eek: I noticed last week a digger round about the actual mound pulling it down i believe. They have been dumping all the cut grass from the airport up there..very dangerous place now.
Here we go again!! Ash closures
Scotland Ireland and prob Northern England airspace closing 0700 weds.

Great stuff Rob.. and the very first pic sums up Amsterdam city just perfectly:dev2::dev2:
Them pigs look Fantastic!! what a cracking colour scheme.. well caught, sir. Great shots.
Excellent shots indeed.
Very lucky catch too. I visit that spot quite often on my way back up the m6 (including this morning)most i’ve caught is a couple of Tucano’s… however, nearly every time i DON’T come off the motorway i get buzzed!!!
Memo to the RAF: can you publish a timetable of when your aircraft are flying over Tebay? thanks!:D
Indeed, been informed they may still be using GLA till tuesday.
Spot on Richard.
A shame that shooting at STN is so hard nowadays.. good job.
Great stuff,Kev
I was over myself at the GAT for a wee while, but, only lasted an hour… bored stupid LOL.
Great catch on the white/gold 757, keeps evading me that one.
Nice movement indeed.
Did you use an editor like Photoshop?
If you shoot over-exposed(as i do ALL the time) it’s quite easy to fix.
Still great shots.
Can someone please explain to me how this is going to work out? Are Icelandair offering special flights from GLA to their normal destinations? I can’t see way of offering travel from GLA to Iceland. What are Icelandair doing from GLA?
Basically they have moved Reykjavik to GLA… so all feeder flights from Europe come to Glasgow then pax onward to the states board a US bound flight at GLA, any pax wishing to actually stay in Iceland fly to Akureyri and land travel (400 miles) to Reykjavik.
Same in reverse for the inbound US flights, change a/c at GLA and on to final destination.
Sun is threatening to come out here 😀
Hey.. excellent set on all 3 posts there… Esp. like the Miami Air 737 and the Romanian 737… is that a new service to Luton? never heard of them.
I felt one or two looked a wee bit over-exposed?? or just my monitor settings.. that aside still a great set to look at. well done that man.
