    Back on topic, please.

This thread is already on very thin ice.

    Regards

We don’t need two threads running at once.

    Back on topic, please.

    With immediate effect, preferably.

Oh, and let’s leave the flag-waving and trolling, etc, where it belongs (ie. in the playground) shall we?

    Thanks

I’d suggest ignorance not shallowness as that is where it all stems from.

I’d suggest you all stop rising to the bait, before you’re suckered into a CoC violation….

And what about what was found in the rock samples that were brought back from Mars?

No rock samples have been brought back from Mars yet.

Are you thinking of the meteorite found in the Antarctic that is presumed to have come from Mars?

Earth born things don’t need that. OK, maybe the last one in deep desert.

And then there’s the bacteria that live in boiling diluted sulphuric acid in volcanic thermal pools….

And the entire ecosystem that thrives around ‘black smokers’ on the deep ocean floor in pitch darkness, high temperatures and water pressure that would crush a Challenger MBT…..

Not to mention the algae that live inside rocks and glaciers.

    All “earth born things”.

Keith, if the graphics drivers were somehow uninstalled, there would still be the BIOS info on startup that is run from the ROM. I think you would even see the Windows splash screen (Windows logo and loading bar) but then nothing else would show.

    Correct.

The Acer Aspire One netbooks don’t have a graphics card as such. They use a chipset on the motherboard instead.

Edit: Thinking about it in the shower (as you do), I recall that I’ve heard of this problem before and that the “cure” was a BIOS upgrade – not something to be tackled by the non-techie as you can easily turn your computer into a paperweight if you get it wrong.

If the netbook is still under warranty – as it sounds like it should be – take it back to where you bought it from.

    PeeDee,

Either adopt a more respectful tone to your fellow members, or go and widdle in someone else’s paddling pool.

    Your choice.

    Thanks
