We need to return to unashamed rule of British law and renounce the ECHR, and, if necessary, amend our indigenous human rights legislation.
Can you tell us which specific parts of the ECHR you take exception to?
Have you ever read what the Convention actually says, as opposed to what the likes of the Daily Heil would have you believe it says?
Same thing applies to our own Human Rights legislation, for that matter. Most of what people think they know about the Human Rights Act is utter twaddle.
I do wish people in general would take the trouble to learn about things before they slag them off.
Mind you, that would mean people thinking for themselves instead of having their opinions spoon-fed to them by (largely) foreign-owned mass media with vested commercial interests.
Here endeth the lesson…… π
By the way…… there is no such thing as ‘British law’, and there never was. :p

I’ve heard anecdotal evidence of the first two frames having been seen on the line at Warton, but nothing more concrete.
Irrespective of the innocence or guilt of those interned surely the payment of compensation is a near absolute admission that their internment was wrong and hands an enormous propaganda victory to those rallying support for attacks on British troops or terrorist action elsewhere.
You’re absolutely right, and the powers that be should have thought about this before they started locking people up in there.
After all, the UK had already seen what a powerful propaganda weapon internment was for Republican extremists in Northern Ireland.

Presumably you’d both be happy to see users of this site prosecuted for some of the more – ahem – forthright postings we’ve seen in here over the years?
If not, then what’s the difference?
(By the way… I’ve moved this to GD as the issue is broader than just commercial aviation.)

You’ll need to take this issue up with the owners of that site, as it’s got nothing to do with anyone here.
It is, in any case, off-topic for this forum.
Sorry!
Perhaps anyone who is able to help might send you a PM.

I agree 100% with Bmused55.
The bombs, bullets and shells made no distinction on the grounds of race, creed or colour – so neither do we.
