The pilot unholsters his gun, clicks off the safety, loads and takes careful aim.

The door flies open, the pilot shoots…..

…and drills a .44 hole neatly through the chest of one of the cabin crew.

As her body falls to the ground the pilot, being a good and humane man, is deeply shocked by the fact that he has just slain a member of his own crew.

The terrorist, who had no scruples at all about using the woman as a human shield, simply steps over her body and slashes the throat of the stricken pilot.

Other terrorists follow him into the cockpit……

Kevinwm is bang on the money, IMHO. Anyone trying to hijack an airiner these days would be torn to shreds by everyone else on board.

If his flight deck is “stormed by a hijacker” he won’t have the time or the space to turn around in his seat, identify the intruder as a hijacker, draw, clear the safety catch, put a round in the breech, aim and shoot.

That sort of thing only happens in the movies. Real-life is much messier.
