You mention that a certain section of the American people supported the IRA but also there is a section of the British peoplee that support Bin Laden and his terrorist organisation. Don’t forget that the 7/7 and 21/7 bombers were British as were others that have subsequently been caught preparing to blow aircraft out of the sky! Also don’t forget at the time of his death he was planning to blow up an American train possibly killing thousands more!

None of the above has escaped my memory, which is nowhere near as selective as some other people’s memory appears to be.

Equally, none of the above supports the apparently prevalent belief that terrorism began on the 11th September 2001 and that only Moslems are terrorists.

Apart from 9/11 they seemed to have forgotten 7/7, the Madrid bombings, the Bali bombings and god knows what else…..

Whatever else we may have forgotten, Avgas, we Brits haven’t forgotten that terrorism wasn’t invented on the 11th September 2001.

Some of us Brits remember a decades-long campaign of kidnapping, murder and bombings, that claimed many lives in Northern Ireland and mainland UK.

Some of us Brits saw the centre of the city where they live devastated by a large truck bomb one bright June day in 1996.

Some of us Brits remember where a large part of the funding for the Irish Republican terror campaigns came from.

We stood up for ourselves against the terrorists for decades, Avgas, while we watched their leaders being celebrated as heroes by certain elements within the USA.

We remember more than you seem to imagine.

Sorry, I agree with Sandy – boot the ******* out and give the job to people who do want it. People who have been made redundant, families to support and bills to pay.

Happily, the law – including employment law – isn’t made up as we go along.
