Oh God, not this again……………
This is as clear-cut a case of pot complaining about the blackness of kettle as you are ever likely to see.
Does anyone here seriously think that the USA is making this fuss at the WTO simply because their inherent sense of justice and fair play has been offended?
Of course not – they are seeking to increase the market share and restore the market dominance of a major (some would say the major) US manufacturer that has considerable political clout within the USA.
Were the boot on the other foot, the EU would be acting in exactly the same way. As we shall, no doubt, soon see when the EU brings up the small matter of the multi-billion dollar “considerations” given to Boeing in connection with 7E7 component and airframe assembly.
As I’ve said before – they’re all at it. To state otherwise is to fly in the face of reason and of well-documented fact.

I travel to Glasgow fairly frequently and I’ve regularly spotted from inside the terminal, in the seating near the retail area – at the top of the escalator in Arrivals – without any trouble whatsoever.
You can’t see all of the stands from there, but nothing can land or take-off without going past you. It’s ideal if it’s raining. 😉

Still parallel runway ops, though.
Not all that rare elsewhere in the world, Matt.

Can’t see what the fuss is about. It’s just two aircraft taking off from parallel runways……
