After a few hours looking at pictures of cockpits I have worked out its for
(drumroll)
AW Argosy C1
Goes right in the upper middle of the dashboard.
Ta da.

Thanks for the responses:
The captions read
FIRE, FFW, OIL, APUF, IEOH on the red primary
nothing on the orange secondary captions.
Data plate just shows C2180 and serial number 040. Ref number and unlabeled other are un-stamped. Mod record plate is clean as well. grey buttons are T1 to T3.
I would assume that APUF in the Primary captions refers to an Auxilary Power Unit??
Not Wessex, thats too long, this is wide.
Its got MK557 painted in white on the bottom next to dataplate. No mod record.
Just found in amongst my poop:
AP1538D Part 2 & 4 DH Hydromatic Variable Pitch Propellers MAJOR REPAIRS
Its not amended but do I have up to AL85 loose (BIG stack).
AP1538D Part 3 DH Hydromatic Variable Pitch Propellers Schedule of Fits, Clearances & Repair Tolerances.
(unknown amendement level- but looks like 15)
This only seems to cover the AY and BY series upon a quick scan at the schedule listings of section 2(Constant Speed Units).
Have you tried IAP at Bankstown? Bit closer to home for you.
Here, here
It avoids all the stupid “may crap plane is better than your sh**e plane” childish blather.
Tango gets my vote anytime!
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggghhhh
That’ll be me then! Still got loads to put on.
Very much work in progress….Please check back regularly
make a small rod perhaps??
Not sure about the implications of being screwed together, but if its for Marine use maybe the strength requirements arent as important.
Look like small Rod ends. A bearing goes in the hole.
These are probably for Rolls Royce Marine parts (looking at the set-up of the part number – some of the parts begin 81050) no idea what they are used on.
Ive also found out that it was used during Op Grapple
so
Valiant
did any of the other V-Bombers use it?
mine are flat and bigger unfortunately, ex Puma, approx 60mm between ends
The plate on the right is a standard data plate, with the modifications carried out on the unit. Ive seen these on BAC1-11, HS748 components – normally airframe ie Radomes, Ailerons, Rudder etc(got some un-stamped ones somehere).
I would assume that these where across the board on UK manufactured aircraft from the mid to late 1950’s. This one is obviously for something military given the section ref code (11B)and they are connected given the serial number tye up between the two plates. No idea what EWB means – someone here will be clever enough, but a lot of the 1-11 u/c serial numbers begin with VW/EEGW and then the individual serial number. I have assumed that this means VICKERS WEYBRIDGE/????
Maybe someone can enlighten us on that
Whats actually written on it? Might be able to identify the part number…and then I can have a rummage.
Barns Farm was a barrack site, this is situated between Storrington and Washington. Numerous other locations dotted around this area, a number of bunkers and there is a Churchill tank somewhere near Storrington that somone has dug up. Findon and Worthing have also been garrison sites, a number of Canuck soldiers where killed when a Heinkel crashed into the house they were billeted in.
Mortar bombs are still occasionaly found on the downs, along with other bits and pieces which had been used in training.
The whole area was, I believe, used so what ive said above is only a very small amount of what went on.
no
and neither would I post the information on here.
Please, have a think before you post.
The info may be out in the public domain somewhere, but why the F**K should it be made easy for the ENEMY to work out what assets there are in the field.
