I watched ”Stealth” last night, it was entertaining but I would have enjoyed it more if I had absolutely no knowledge of military technology 🙂
It could have been so much better if they had made it more realistic 🙁
Looks good, I wonder how long the ‘Special Extended Edition’ will be? 🙂

I’ve just finished ”Deception Point” by Dan Brown, it’s a entertaining read but a little too far fetched in places. 7/10.
I wish Dan Brown would get his military references right too, I’ve never heard of a F-14 Tomcat Split-tail with Lockheed 345 engines that can fly 3,000 miles in 2 hours 🙂

Denmark’s Flyvefisken Class multi-role vessels seem like the ideal solution for future Mine warfare needs. A very impressive design in my opinion.

Isn’t it a concept demonstrator for the LCS program? http://science.howstuffworks.com/sea-fighter.htm

A Royal Australian Navy Sea King passes over HMS Sandown on patrol and HMS Sandown at work clearing a channel into the port of Az Zubayr.
So who has the best mine hunter out there? Should they have secondary roles? Should these ships have a big gun or small guns as is more the case these days?
Another question that needs asking is whether dedicated Mine warfare ships will be needed in the future or will remote control and automated systems enable normal warships to carry out the task?
I think vessels like the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) need to replace dedicated mine hunters. They should be low cost flexible ships armed with a 57mm – 76mm gun as standard and have containerized mission equipment fitted as needed. It would operate robotic submarines, boats and aircraft.

The books and graphic novels of Neil Gaiman make for weird and wonderful reading. I would rate most of his stuff 10/10.
