I’ll ask my dad or mum. We were there in the early 60s but there is a chance all they’ll have is domestic shots, I have certainly seen the latter from around then

I used to dispatch and one of the places I went to was the airfield near Chester where GMP fly their helicopter from. There was at least one MIG, and maybe two, parked up there. That was 5 years ago and I dont know if it/they are still there. From memory the engines had been run but the plane/s hadnt been flown since its/their arrival

When I first heard this I thought “why mess with a good film” and “I hope he produces it with respect for the ‘heros'” but that was very quickly followed by the thought that “I think he is the chap that did, what I think was, an excellent job on LOTR” and I think even Disney tried that one as a cartoon and it was, IMO, poor. Hopefully he will do as good a job on this.

I only hope their casting is good, the wrong ‘national’ accents really put me off.

“can someone tell me why the CAA won’t let a Lightning fly in the UK? Can’t we handle it ???”

for what its worth I seem to remember that the electronics are also no longer considered airworthy but that may have come from the same programme that showed Clarkson getting one as a lawn ornament 😮

Thanks I’ll send them an email, there are several other aircraft I photographed some of which I recognise and who knows it might be of some use to them.

I have just had the a batch of long forgotten films developed and included in these were two films of an air display at Newtownards, Co. Down, N.Ireland. This was many years ago, as in possibly 20+ years ago. Surprisingly the films did actually process with reasonable success though they have obviously suffered due to the wait.
I think the ill fated Mosquito of the start of this thread flew there

If I am correct I was wondering if anyone know when this aircraft flew there? ie I have forgotten when the airshow was and would like to date the photos.

    Thanks for any help
