Last lot.

And the next
As others have said above Paul Bonhomme is superb in his Su26, I think he’s the best aeros pilot in the UK.
The Cobra is good but not difficult to do in a Su26.
I would have preferred to see a professional act. Denny, PB, Lecomber (who has been forced out of the business) but they all charge a display fee.
Neal
Neal,
Elsewhere you say you got there at 9:30 and only had to wait 5 mins, as you live in Leics can I ask which route you took.Niall
I didn’t have to travel from Leicester. I grew up in the next village to Cosford, Albrighton, and my family still live there. I was there fotr the weekend so only had to travel a couple of miles and I walked back from Cosford to Albrighton.
Neal
There was a nimrod and canberra listed to display but i didn’t catch why they weren’t flying. Maybe unservicability or were neede on operations.
The main theme was the Reds 40th anniversary. The pilots came back from Shawbury to meet the crowds. And also the displays by the Gnats fitted in with this but I’m not really into themes. It can really limit the display content.
Neal
Well said DB, I know exactly where your coming from.

…
If there is one thing thats going to put people off going to airshows like Cosford its
1) Appalling taffic management
2) High entry costs
3) A poor airshow like the one at Cosford today…I’ll get my coat… 😡
Nige
Nige- This is not a criticism of where you decided to watch the show from. I have watched the show from there in the past and also my dads back garden backs onto that bowling green.
Just a couple of points
1) Traffic management – Fair point, its not the best but I had no trouble getting in but it seems that people who arrived shortly after me were stuck in queues.
2) High entry costs – £12 in advance and £15 on the gate. Thats not bad. I know you have kids but there are worse. I went to Santa Pod the other week. £26 on the gate for one day.
3) Poor show like cosford today. – Why did you think it was poor? I go to Cosford every year and this was one of the best. Most of the acts got applause after them (apart from when they all fell asleep for the SU-26) and all seemed to enjoy it.
I’m not having a go, i’m just curious so don’t rip my head off. I’m not here to upset people.
Neal
Ah, I thought maybe I knew you, In another thread you said you parked in Albrighton as you were near locals. I grew up there but moved away in 97 but my family and friends still live there.
I thought it was a good show, it appears that some people had trouble getting in, some didn’t but there was a lot of people there. No big gaps in the flying. Good commentary, both informative and entertaining. Ok, some small mistakes but thats ok, I like Shaun Maffet.
A shame the Canberra wasn’t displaying. I’m not really into helicopters but the Chinok display was great.
Neal
Coanda, Do I know you then?
Neal
Hi John and welcome to the forum. You’ll have a good time here.
Neal
Does anyone know when the Sea Hawk is going to fly?
Neal
Yeah, thats it, thanks guys. Cosmic Wind, owned by Pete Kynsey. The last time & only time I’ve seen it fly is at Legends 99. More bookings for this aircraft please.
Neal
The Aerostars are also at Cosford next weekend too.

And the last.
