Mind you ARCo/HFL may be plotting, behind closed doors, to over throw the government using a flock of restored Spitfires.

    Damm found out 😉
all was going well till we needed the permit to fly then disaster
the campaign against aviation found out

any one tried getting a permit in the last year ouch! 😡
we then found out we had friends in goverment who are looking into the
CAA, so had to cancel operation “plane speak” :diablo:

Hey, there’s nothing candid about my camera CAS! It’s even recorded you on occasion. I may have to get a new “cover” now the Sainsbury’s bag has been rumbled :p

roobarb it was the six foot lens through the fence that gave you away not the sainsbury bag

    “possibly not”?

    That’s the problem.

When you are selling anything you never actually know which enquiries (however unlikely) will result in sales and which are timewasters.

Pro salespeople treat them all as serious and survive. Those who play at it make their own judgement calls. Some survive, some go under.

    Moggy

but going by that if ARCo/HFL are still in buisness as they appear to be. then it must be assumed that they are capable of discerning the serious buyer from the one with the sainsburys bag and candid camera.

I can thoroughly recommend the diner across the road from Niagara South Airport.

It`s a bit of a haul for breakfast though 😀
and a bit pricey inclusive of the BA flight…….

Thanks for putting me straight cas, do you remember how Smudge made them. As I believe Messerschmitt used to press out the complex shapes. Was some type of former constructed to work from or did they have a pattern to copy.

    Septic.

ARC borrowed a set of cowlings to copy but the shapes were formed with pressings and a lot of wheeling and beating, plus a few abusive words,
the finnished items are a credit to a craftsman,

The majority of the work was carried out by ARCO although I believe the new panels were manufactured by Airframe Assemblies.
    Septic

I can assure you the new panels were manufactured in house by ARC
ask smudge he`s still got the bruises……

Shame there are none in this country with the bubble canopy any longer, I think they look quite smart. Having said that I have such a soft spot for the Chipmunk that I think there are too few about regardless of which canopy they are fitted with.

I believe there may have been an issue with the CAA over the canopy which would have prevented the aircraft from doing aerobatics, as this type of canopy was never certified in the UK
