avro`s finest for PM
At this rate tony will be quitting soon, we can hear the rumblings in number 10
speaking from experience I have spent several hours perched on both the gunner and nav seats in the blenheim and would have loved to have had a seat like this to sit on. but no only the small button type was installed in the aircraft. but I agree it looks like a thirties style seat but maybe it originally did not pivot??
I don`t think its blenheim much too comfy 🙂
looks more like a VIP seat from a de havilland type
Excellent – see you can put a boat in an aircraft hangar – stops it rotting.
I would have thought it would speed up the rot process . wood boats are better kept damp to stop the timbers from drying out and shrinking, not kept in a warm de-humidified hanger?
this MTB already is showing serious signs of shrinkage.
it was always a long march to school
twice a day!
wooden spoon  what are you implying I have on good authority from the rumour factory 😀 😀
It`s all part of the museum plan to revolve exhibits
they are planning to swop the sunderland and hms belfast over later in the year :dev2:

It is likely that other aircraft such as pembroke, f86, t33, hunter, DC3 will also fall foul of this new legislation.
sooner we opt out of europe the better
How long was the Hurri at ARC having the ‘major’ – anyone know?
She was delivered to duxford in october last year with a expected return to BBMF at mid march but the weather has had its say. military limits for the airtest have not been available to all concerned.
it is possible that the bolly`s in question are ones on the gunnery training schools
it is also possible a formation photograph taken at B.Ae bristol. on one of the blenheims return flights to bristol it was in formation with tornados
I would suggest anyone wanting pictures of the aircraft going into the airspace hanger one project do so before they do go in.
the plans for the layout on the IWM web site look even worse than the american museum layout.
why is it the IWM seem set on packing too many aircraft into a small space removing any chance to stand and admire these great british aircraft.
I noticed that the (mark 1) nose is now sitting by the recovering Blenheim, the updates posted by the collecting tin/ bomb 😮 bring encouraging news but do not commit to which nose it is planned to have, have any decisions been made yet? (Pocketful of change deposited 😉 )
kigas has outlined the plan with complete accuracy and knowledge.
much work has already been completed and to this end , the main effort is being placed on the wings and centre section at this time but it is still considered to be the mk 1 option which will fly.
🙂 thanks for the pocket of change it all helps
Duxford is a museum open to the public. Part of the arrangement for the various operators that inhabit the site is that they contribute to the IWM .
surley the point is that without private operators on the site duxford would a/ never have grown to the present museum and remained a storage out station for the IWM.
b/ be another boring static collection
c/ not revisited by people due to non flight policy it has.
private owners are the life in what would have been a drab collection of static aircraft and decaying buildings. yes they do contribute to the IWM but it is a working partniship which has evolved through years of hard work from both parties.
the chipmunks arrived at duxford prior to public opening time due to transport logistics and were not being hidden from view as is being made out, ARC are committed to preservation of aircraft 100% and it is a shame that some people view their establishment as a “area 51” but it is due to some commercial pressures that are placed on private owners which see the need for some degree of secrecy.
I realise we are only talking about two chipmunks in this case, and it is sometimes hard to accept that the world through the www web is looking over your shoulder and reporting every move.
but it seems to me that some people are very quick to condem others for their view point. the forum is a open domain where all points should be allowable but it seems to be a place where if you do not conform to the required format then look out. ” and i expect this posting will take that dangerous route” but i feel some members take life far too seriously.
