Is this the BBC or the Daily Mail?
First it’s 18 Hurricanes and 6 Spitfires, then AFTER the display allthough they changed it round they were now on site and reporting on an event that had happened so should be 5 Hurricanes.
The quality of the photographs is truly appauling, conditions were a little tricky but any competent professional photographer should be able do a lot better than this.
I don’t hate all children only those that are not my own.
For some reason we seem to attract troublesome children every airshow we go to, even the Gold at DX there was one.
Eastbourne was one where we didn’t have children problems on any of the days. This is quite surprising as Eastbourne is not what it used to be it is more like Southend inhabitants wise than lifesend.
Today at Biggin Hill we had the usual late arrival complete with fence rocking kid with 20 attention span. When the father started invading my body space and jogging my camera elbow I’m afraid we had words, but he did appologise after all this was Kent.:D:D:D
Sorry Merlin70 forgot to tell you, congratulations, you won I only wish there was a prize.:)
An excellent day out. I’m very pleased that I accepted the invitation and got away from the office!
It’s hard work but somebody has to do it.:)
Thanks merlin70, it does get lonely over here in photographic, personally I think it should be scrapped and just post in the appropriate forum.
At the end of the day one of the suites on the other side of the fence was walking along the few people asking “What was your favourite?”
When he got to me he didn’t see the funny side when I said P51.:D
Now posting Hurricane Special in Photographic Airshows, although not really an airshow as such.
Not all were spitfires.

OK a good day at Biggin but was it worth the entrance price? That totally depends on if you felt that the location was a major factor. The fly pasts here were enacting what typically took place on the day plus a missing man. So if one was expecting an airshow type display or indeed a Balbo then you were going to be disappointed. It was a park rather than a flight line with rather a lot of media people and other hangers on getting in the way unless you had the patience to wait till past the end. Not quite sure where meeting the pilots or veterans took place as I didn’t see it happening, maybe someone could let us know.
Well it was 5 Hurricanes so no new record but they were still digging:highly_amused:
I only ever saw 5 and only 5 landed back.
All in the programme
All now airborne a couple of fly bys one along and above crowd line. Now await return.
