Sorry – I’ll get my coat.
..
Good one. Obviously I was in the wrong Lane.:highly_amused:
Wish you had pointed that out earlier I can hardly ask Moggy to make another correction now can I.:D
Paul – I think you’d have to include Alan Pollock’s Hunter under the upper span of Tower Bridge.
Without a doubt.
Wasn’t there something about Sidney Harbour Bridge or was that just a good Aussie story?
Surely the Americans have done something?
Now turning controversial
Is not a bridge smaller than a hanger and a Spitfire somewhat faster than the planes in 1930?
Any excuse to watch this again.
Any more examples of flying under?
Llandbedr mythical.
Llanbedr historic.
Quite right of course.
Hanging my head in shame having lived in N Wales for over 30 years and been to/through Llanbedr many times.
Fraid I cannot correct the title maybe Moggy will put me out of my embarrassment.
Ouch:D
Oh no it isn’t it’s commercial now and therefore should be in Commercial just like Manston is.:dev2:
Watch out thread drift forum police will be along and say this discussion should be in General Discussion. 😀
Why does everyone always think things are CGI or Photoshop? It’s real!
I didn’t I said I hadn’t seen it and didn’t want to say it was genuine if it wasn’t hence the title.
When I have a better connection away from Burtonwood’s broadband black hole I will give it a look. The best broadband I can get is the BT Hotspot FON at the Burtonwood services which is about a mile away.
It is an interesting point though. Of those who have a predominant interest in historic many would also like to be aware of unusual or significant aviation news in general. If there has been a major news event then you would go looking in the appropriate forum, in this sort of case I found it of interest, didn’t see it in the news but accidentally stumbled across it whilst Googling. If somebody had posted it in GA I would not have seen it as I rarely stray from Historic.
As ever a reasoned hand on the helm.:D
Certainly wouldn’t disagree with that, Moggy, until I saw how stagnant GA was. At time of writing those viewing GA was 8 and Historic 390 and I just thought that forumites on Historic would be interested in this.
But by all means move it. :dev2:
There just remains to thank those forumites who were kind enough to comment.
Thank you Mothminor for your further comment that is exactly it.
Thank you GliderSpit for your kind comment.
Many thanks Flygirl & ~Alan~ & LuveK
Many thanks RedToo, all good with the link.
Scotavia many thanks for your comment. As I said the Llandudno air show has only been running for three years and draws a large crowd which is all good for trade which, of course, is the purpose. I didn’t get to see any of the “static” show on the prom but there was a lot more than the first year including two helicopters that were flown in.
There is also another air show just a few miles along the coast at Rhyl, I went last year and it is OK with plenty for the family on the prom and a Military village which was very good.
These type of air shows seem to be growing and it needs local business and councils to get together to put a show on and market it well. I thought that the Llandudno Air Show website was excellent, they obviously took good advice. I see no reason why this wouldn’t work up north.
And given the unenvious job of following the Red Arrows and also closing the show the Hanger 11 P51D 44-72035 Mustang which saw service with the Tuskegee Airmen. Unfortunately the display stuck to the official display line and did not come up our end at all so mainly pictures which show the unique location of this air show and they are not up to the quality I would like .

I have not really been that interested in formation flying displays, I used to enjoy them back in the sixties and seventies but we all know how things have changed.
However, I have to say the Red Arrows were absolutely stunning especially when viewed from this altitude and location which I suppose brought back some of that seventies feeling specially with singletons passing round the Little Orme to approach the display line through the “valley” between the Little Orme and the “mainland”.

I think they “cut” the grass to get ride of the white flowers 😀
Also tyre marks on road are same but faded.
