Years ago I had seen photos either online or via one of them old fashioned things whats it??……………….. Oh yeah a book. Which had Halifax bombers being cut up in a very similar way as described.

I dont remember where but it was basically a production line where by the engines were dropped into one pit either side of the aircraft. The aircraft being rolled along to the next pit and the wings were chopped and then finally the fuselage pushed into the next pit.

There’s the Lancaster that crashed into the Forth near Kincardine on take off from Grangemouth (although IMO it is long broken up by the fast moving currents).

    Not so Dave,

It still lies there almost as intact as the day it ditched. The currents where it is are not as fast as you might think although the Forth is notorious for it fast moving very heavily silted waters. The tail of this Lancaster still occasionally shows itself.

    Does this all really matter?

If or when they find something it will all be a bonus.

And at the very least perhaps some usuable spares might come out of this.

I dont know the full situation so I will refrain from comment but I have similar feelings to that of Tony.

Just goes to show when you think you can fully trust a kid give them the keys and then they go and do something stupid like this.

Kind of doesnt make you want to trust anyone.

Does anyone else just feel that this is a rehash of all previous “announcements”.

I mean to most of us this isnt news as such just an update to say four engines have been aquired.

I have no problem with repeat jounalism as it brings fresh readers or viewers in with each release of the story.

Now wondering how much futher they are on in the project than last time and if there is any type of time scale.

Well done the Patons keep up the good work.

Let’s be quite clear on that.

Thats the problem John there are far too many grey areas in this country. Nothing is as clear cut as we all would like. Thats why so many users get past the system.

    Guys,

Certainly no threats coming from my direction and as for a warning well certainly not what I meant. Perhaps I should choose my words more carefully in future as I fear they are being taken the wrong way.

As for spouting facts and figures I for one have little need fo those facts and figures and have had to live with disability in my life for the last 16 years in one form or another.

Because of a minority of scroungers what most of you are suggesting with the tightening up of the rules would see a lot of well deserving cases overlooked. I have seen it all happen before during the last set of rule changes.

I also would like to see thed rule breakers caught and denied what they think they are due but again how would you interpret a disabled person having a good day compared to a bad day. Lot of varibles and good folks would get overlooked because of the wrong uns.

How about we look at the millions of pounds we lose to benefits every year having to deal with all the imigration cases we get each year. Sucessful and no sucessful?

There are hundreds of way to cut back on spending but most goverments are not keen to cut back because it would make them unpopular. Hard decisions have to be made.

This is a subject very close to my own heart and I would warn you all to cool it before this dicussion get too heated from either side.

To those who are essentially mocking those on benefits. I hope you will never in your life need to claim a disability benefit.

But if you do then enjoy the hoops you will have to jump through to prove your disability and then try and justify your needs in front of doctors and benefit agents alike.

It is a tough world out there for a lot of disabled folks who can barely get help while others seem to get handed benefits on a plate. Would you like cream with that sir?

Tread carefully where you go with this thread.

They are still picking bits out of roof tops and gutters etc all these years on. I saw a piece of internal airframe not so long ago in Lockerbie that had been collect by a roofer I know. It still looked brand new. Not even bent out of shape. Must have been ripped from the interior due to the blast and landed on a roof and hidden for all these years.

Always has been a pointless waste of lives. Not that any life lost isnt a waste but you get my meaning.

    RIP to all that perished

Welcome back to all three of you.

The place was a lot poorer and quieter without you all.

Well actually there was a hell of a lot of noise while you were away and I doubt this place could ever be quiet.

    Anyhow welcome back.

:diablo:I’m sorry but I just can’t stop laughing at that comment…. no disrespect intended to any egg-whisk likers ok 😀

Although I cant lay any claim to the saying I remember a commentator at the East Fortune airshow telling the very same story which came from a show pilot at some point during the day.

I am pretty sure the story was relayed by none other than Ken Ellis I think.
