His quote: BTW it was John Smith, the greatest Prime Minister we never had,

Indeed and we have had a couple who might deserve that accolade for real, whereas Mr Smith, as regarded by our friend, deserves it despite not having achieved it.

To be fair, that wasn’t what Interflug62M actually said.

He made a statement of fact that John Smith WAS the greatest Prime Minister we never had. That assumes rather a lot, in my humble opinion.

But therein lies the rub. The information is often contradictory and incomplete. I am not suggesting that no information is better than some information, but I think that, in their eagerness to rush out as much detail as possible, there is not sufficient analysis and consideration of all the facts before publication. Added to which the conclusions of what is bad and what is good is continually being amended leading to greater public confusion.

Are you a “five-a-day” man, GA?;)

We’ll never know whether or not he would have been “the greatest Prime Minister ever”, so it’s a bit much to endow him with those qualities.

The less we listen to the food busybodies the better – we might live longer we might not. So what? I just want to be left to get on with my life, within reason, and take the consequences for my own actions.
