joeyR Did the season of the year not change for you.
the first pic shows the field in the autumn and when you move it changes to summer. with a crop of corn on the field.I have noticed other areas, where as you move along the road vehicles suddenly disappear as you get closer.
Yes, of course, how obvious. Perhaps I was looking for something much more sinister! I have also experienced the receding car effect.

Wasn’t she also the first B.2 to enter service ……. ?
Not sure, but I didn’t think so……I forgot that she was also converted for Maritime Recce for a period.
Sorry if this question has already been answered somewhere in the previous 2961 pages but did XH558 have an eventful service life? Was she involved in any (or ‘the’) raids, did she fly any important sorties or was she just a regular ol’ bomber?
She spent some of her life in the tanker role before being converted back. And her only claim to fame is as the last serving Vulcan in the RAF and as the display aircraft for 6 years. So, arguably she will be the best known Vulcan of all, as she will have seen by so many people and by many of those many times – me included!
I am not sure if I have completely understood you. Much as I relished my airshow going days things have changed and I have only been to 2 or 3 RIAT events, to Duxford, to Old Warden and to Biggin in recent years.
I am not sure what you mean when you talk about risk. Do you, mean the risks the organisers take in putting on the show or the risks to spectators from accidents? If the latter then I would suggest that the restrictions and controls are far greater than they were years ago, when a display aircraft was able to, within reason, fly as low, as fast and as close to the crowd line as it dared and in the very early days across the crowd line. Now, I think, the minimum distance is 200 metres.
Others with much more knowledge will know how viable more airshows would be and could make more informed comment about risk.
Where are you from, out of interest?
