That’s interesting. My recollection, and that’s all it is, is that she acted quickly and decisively to despatch the Task Force, within a very short time of the invasion. No doubt the Argies did not expect it. What is the book, out of interest?

What is Brazil’s position on the Falklands issue?
Siding with the rest of the Latins, so far.
But is your job as demanding or as important as cabin crew, do your daily actions and responsibilities affect the lives of every person you come into contact with?
I am not sure that I have a large enough sheet om paper to list the jobs which are more demanding and more important than airline cabin crew. A rather grossly inflated idea of the job, I fear.
as I understand it Argentina is trying to gather enough support from the South American and Caribbean nations to put something to the UN.
And a fat lot of good it will do them.
Meaning that the Argies didn’t think Galtieri was up for it and we didn’t think Maggie was?

Rather neatly summarised. Spot on about the US and EU. And we certainly lack a leader with balls, either now or in the near future.

If there are any BA cabin crew forum members it would be interesting to hear from them…………;)

We can ignore the predictable posturing of Chavez and Ortega. And the new right wing Chilean President might have a different attitude when he takes office next month. Old ties with Chile are still strong, despite the Pinochet connections and are still maintained with right wing supporters there.

Your last paragraph summarises it exactly.
If you are right in your comments about the union meeting, and I am sure you are, then it says little for the members’ sense of responsibility for their own lives and their own families, as many will have. I had thought that union members might have grown up in the last 30 years.
It flies in the face of my optimistic assessment of their intelligence. I do not have any sympathy for peoples’ blind acceptance of assurances from those who have axes to grind. Like you I have been there and attended these dreadful union meetings where the earth is promised and you all know darn well that it is pie in the sky. You all agree it is and then the vote is taken and the “sheep” tick the box.
To clarify, my post is in response to Deano, not slipperysam, whosae post was not there when I wrote mine.
