Very nice indeed, Blue. But just for the unkowledgable – you own the blue B, and the red Midget and the Camaro?:D

What a pretty “blue” motor, Blue! Thanks. My old man had one of those many moons ago and I rather enjoyed being driven in it.:D By the looks of benboy’s post you better give his neck of E.Yorks a wide berth. Is he near you?

As always, really terrific pictures, Elliott. But I share a degree of disappointmernt with some other posters about the event itself. These days £5 is very little, so perhaps we shouldn’t expect too much, but I thought the overall organisation and communication of what was happening was very poor. I spoke to the PA commentatior who claimed he was totally in the dark most of the time.

And I have just located this reference to the book you mention and one about Ivor by Tony Spooner.

Will try to track them both down.

Nicely put. I was pretty sure of you, but had just misunderstood your post. But, yes, how right you are.

And an MG of the vintage of yours is not fully dressed without those Union Jacks. I’m no petrol head as you know but I wouldn’t mind a peak at your MG if you have a photo to hand………:)

This is the first time I had read of this pair. What a marvellous story and another with the inevitably sad ending. I wonder thier story has ever been filmed.
