The sun shines brightly and the wretched Scot in No 10 and his awful cohorts are banished from, our lives – for years, hopefully.:):D

It appears that the most important matter of all, dealing with the deficit, will be Tory lead and their manifesto commitments willl be upheld. And I am not sure that Cable is Treasury Secretary – he has a Cabinet role with responsibity for banks and business. The sop of Deputy PM for Clegg means little, as Moggy rather eloquently implies!

So we will see just how historic it turns out to be. I would have preferred a minority Tory government with an election before the end of the year, but let’s hope this coalition works out, in all our interests.

I should have thought that one of the prerequisites of a “National” airline is that its ownership should be national.

Yes, I can see there are subtle differences between the two, but certainly not significant enough for me to recall from over 50 years ago. But it seems from the posts here that both types were used by CCFs so I presume it could equally have been either type. We will never know for sure!:)

The BBC website is the last place I would go for a history lesson. Channel 4’s take on the “Blitz Spirit” was entirely different. Taken as a whole I have enjoyed the series. Holes could be picked in it, of course, but on balance it was a good mix of historical recollection and effective re-enactment. And as for the milk bottle………
