I know Boom.
i.e. as I said lets stick to aviation .There are other places to discuss strategic issues where you can go if you want.

Any news of what role HAL is going to play in this program? Are they going to take home some solid Russian technology back home or HAL will be reduced to simply a fund contributer?

That is the infamous Telepoozik (Telletuby) :).

Thanks again , but from the picture of mooring trials there doesnt seem to be enough clearance:confused:
Pardon the ignorance , but from pictures of the Kuznetsov and earlier Gorshkov , it seems that those ships had huge fixed planar array radars mounted in front and on both sides of the superstructure thus providing a wide field of view..

Because the Indian Mig 29Ks already have them?
It is a good radar , why take the headache (and cost) of integrating something new when the one fitted is good enough for its purpose?
Even the Mig 29s of the IAF are getting the same on upgrade: further refined Zhuk M2
To answer rayrubik’s question, work is still a little behind schedule and the Indian inspectors are worried about the deadline. That said corners have already been cut to ensure speedy induction, and some of the outfitting work(for instance, the air defence system) and sea trials likely won’t be done until after it arrives in India. Optimistically we can expect it to be fully operational (as the Navy intends) by 2013 end.
Thanks , but need some clarification. They would surely do the sea trials in Russia because if they do it after it comes to India , and something goes wrong , are they again going to haul it to Severodvinsk?
Generally the manufacturer does the sea trials and the navy does the acceptance trials.
he’s just trying to put pressure on the GoI to take it forward quickly. it isn’t going to be signed before he retires. Not a chance.
Maybe he is a bit weary of the possible response of the GoI to the Aero India investigation…
Maybe he thinks GoI may give the mrca to the Navy instead :diablo:
Earlier reports indicated the mmrca shortlisted companies will be allowed 6 months to submit their offset proposals.None of them have submitted their offsets yet.Add to that the price negotiations.
So I dont see how this will be resolved before the ACM’s retirement in July.
DRDO to complete feasibility study for Indian Stealth fighter project in 18 months
Defence Minister A K Antony said that the “feasibility study for design and development of AMCA is being undertaken by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), Bengaluru.”
Second big project for the ADA!
Setting a NFZ is only useful if it is the initial part of a wider campaign to deter Gadaffi’s ground forces.Alone , it is pointless.
Thats quite optimistic I would say.
Thanks snake 65 for all the pictures.
Induction date is Navy Day 2012 if i am not mistaken.
Do you reckon they will be able to finish everything by then?
